The bungalows were great and quite new! It was cozy and quiet which we liked. Jake was awesome with his stories! The staff in general were friendly and helpfull. The beach area was beautiful. The view from our room was breath taking!

Wonderful resort. We had a room beach front, just 20-30 meters from the water's edge, in the night was pleasant falling asleep with the sound of the waves on the beach. The beach is probably the best of the island. The room is cleaned every day (the towels are changed daily but the sheets didn't, we stayed 5 nights). The staff has been very friendly and lovely with our baby and us. They also helped me to fix a wheel of my trolley bag that was broken durung the transfer.

The staff was amazing, very friendly and an awesome cook. I felt like every need I had was addressed and taken care of immediately. A standard fan room was comfortable and not too hot with the breeze and you can't beat the view!

If you want to visit a paradise Island and have a beach to yourself this is the place to come.
If you want full moon parties etc you will have to look elsewhere.
I can't think of a better place for a honeymoon or if you just want to chill for a few days.
Very good location right on the beach, next to the pier to get boat to other islands and right in front of Ko Pii and Ko Kam for day trips.

Makathanee was a great place to stay at Koh Mak. We came directly to the pier from Koh Chang, got into the spacious bungalow quickly and enjoyed our time here with an amazing view to the ocean. Close by shops, restaurants and massages (walking distance only minutes). Hotel booked a snorkeling trip for us with only 6 guests which was great. Also nice private beach, also to go for longer walks in both directions. However, a scooter rental is helpful to see also other areas of the island.
1. Right on the beach, only few resort folks not crowded and it has it own pier.
2. Food was good , they do barbq in the evenings
3. We saw a clear sunset from the pier.
4. Loved the vibe, very quiet and the staff was very helpful. Do book a taxi from the resort to the pier which is 20Baht.
5. If you go outside, there is a nice gelato shop and other shops near by. We just stayed for one night and we loved it.
Actual paradise. Lovely modern beach huts with a sea view. Very comfortable with air conditioning. Staff incredibly friendly and welcoming. The bar is right on the beach and has such a friendly atmosphere.

We were picked up and dropped off at the ferry with ease aswell as rent a motorbike from them.

Great restaurant, delicious food at reasonable prices. Generous and tasty breakfast. Koh Mak also fun to explore on motorbikes with the family. We had been 10 years previous and it still has the same charm. Very chilled, quiet island. Often had beaches completely to ourselves, even at the resort (we went low season). Perfect stay!
By The Sea is the perfect location on Koh Mak, close to where things are happening and right on the beach with a restaurant and bar area. The building is new and modern, there is a pool and the rooms are neatly designed.
