My room was fine, the bed comfortable, and looked right out on the sea....the staff were extremely friendly, and there was a very good restaurant close by....it was close to Portobelo, and the buses stop right in front ....thanks for a great stay!

The owner is new and he did try to right problems we had. The mattress on one bed was too soft and he had a new one brought in within 2 hours. The TV wasn't working and the staff was able to correct it. The complimentary breakfast was supposed to start at 8AM but the chef didn't show until 9:30AM after they tried every which way to contact him.

Location has a boat dock, and an outside captain that can do snorkerling trips. It also has a little beach area where you can swim. The hotel has it's own diving boats and tours, so you can book with them directly for trips. There's an unused bar right on the water, so you can enjoy your drinks there. Room was clean, comfortable, and had enough beds for all of us. Sitting on the porch, you can relax listening to the waves and cool off from the ocean breeze. Staff was very friendly, and the managers speak English. The dining area has breakfast and dinner options (didn't stay long enough to find out about lunch). Dinner was delicious and reasonably priced. There's also another very good restaurant about 3-5 minutes walking distance away if you prefer to go there instead. I believe there's a police station nearby, so we were not concerned about safety/security. I liked that the managers gave you the option of late checkout when nobody is booked on your departure date, they're very accomodating.

Every time that I travel to Panama I go to Portobelo! it is my favorite location. a magical village loaded with just located on the most beautiful bay that I know on the ruins of a Spanish fortress with the unique church of Christo Negro. I always stay in Casa Congo , a beautiful gallery that presents the works of the local artists the village with amazing guest rooms on the Top floor with a front see view , good restaurant almost touching the water and welcoming and friendly team! I take the king or the queen rooms. Just to wake up there in the morning to the amazing view of the Pirate Bay makes my day!

The location is fine, you have the beach and pool. The place is tranquil. Also, the beach has black sand which is rare to see.!! it has security for the entrance. it is private. people are amazing.
