It's probably the best place to stay when visiting Iriomote island. Takamichi is a great host. He picked us from bus station and gave detailed information about village and island culture.
Apartment is clean and very well equipped. It matters because there is only few restaurants and small shop on Iriomote so having your own kitchen with all needed utensils is a life saver.
It's 50 meteres from the sea, so you have your own beach. You can also use Takamichi's kayaks and bikes for free. And apartment have private porch facing the seaside where you can relax and spent lazy afternoons.
It may be not the cheapest place on the island but it's worth every cent. Plus you can ask Takamichi to prepare you breakfast. Even vegetarian or vegan :)

The owner and staff were the kindest people! The hotel has all one needs, with a wonderful breakfast included. It was super clean, we had an amazing view of the sea from the room and could simply step out onto the beach as it’s right there in front of the water. At night the the rooftop terrace is perfect for star gazing. The location is great, inside a very small town immersed in nature. Someone told us this was “deep Iriomote” - and we now love deep Iriomote! We only stayed 1 night but we wish we could have stayed longer!
Located right in front of its private beach, エコヴィレッジ西表 Eco Village Iriomote offers accommodations in a villa-style building. Guests can swim at the outdoor pool or sit out by the terrace.

We arrived via ferry to Uehara port and got a bus to the accomodation. Please note the bus is not very frequent. The host was very friendly and showed us to the room. Due to the remoteness of the accommodation, we had dinner and breakfast here the next day for our 1 night stay. The meals were superb! For dinner , we had a delicious local meal of fresh sashimi with Yaeyama soba , Okinawa Pork and salad. We booked both a night tour and day tour with Adventure PiPi who picked us up from the accommodation and dropped us back and also dropped us at the port the next day for the ferry back to Ishigaki Island.
The beach next to the accommodation was beautiful and quiet.
The room was basic with tatami mats and futons which is what we expected. It was good value.
A lovely quiet location.
There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of swirling waves and the smell of sea air through your bedroom window. Beachfront accommodation comes in a variety of forms, from well decked-out resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea and outdoor pools with adjacent bars.
Just in front on the beach which is very famous as beautiful in the island “hoshizuna(star sand) beach. And the beach is so peaceful and easy to watch a lot of fishes and corrals, even you just bring your water glasses. And the accommodation owns the Restrant as well and customer doesn’t have to bring your wallets, they check the end of stay for all. Which means you don’t have to bring your wallet to the beach,no worries while swimming is kinda big deal to me.
The location is a 4 minute walk to the beach and there are a couple great restaurants within a short walk too. The owner was a great help to navigate reservations for activities and food. The home cooked breakfast every morning sets the tone for the day. Pension Iromote really offers a peaceful and quiet heaven away from the bitten path.
Nice older pension with 3 common areas - tv room, dining room, and beautiful outside yard with picnic table. Owner was very helpful: made a tasty breakfast, arranged a kayak tour, booked dinner reservations, and even drove us to/from the restaurants. The best part though was the amazing beach a short walk away.
The couple who manage the hotel are absolutely delightful and made my trip so special! They really go out of their way to help you and make sure you're comfortable.
Rooms are standard but comfortable and have a great view of the sea.
The beach right in the front of the hotel is lovely and so private and quiet.
The food is lovely and a great price.
Beautiful location right beside a beach. Friendly and helpful staff, and the owner speaks good English. Delicious meals of local cuisine. A very cozy place to stay.
I liked the beachside location, spacious grounds, and that it doesn't have many rooms. It feels very private. You can also walk to the park and restaurants.
