location one of the best, very tired hotel, was clean but for the $$$ there is not much luxury compared to other places we have stayed, heating when not cold was also an issue and the answer was its October, yes I understand its October but the weather wasn't cold so had to sleep with doors open to cool down.

Great location on the lake with parking. Walking distance to ferry and train. Delicious food and super service at the restaurant, despite being off-season and eating almost alone. Quadruple room was actually a suite with 2 bedrooms and lots of space for a family.

The room (in a lovely historical setting) was clean and spacious with a very large and comfortable bed. Breakfast (served in the restaurant next door) is very good with a lot of choice. Sylvia, the landlady, is very friendly and welcoming. She helped us plan our visits of the lake. The restaurant (Osterio Il Governo) serves delicious local food.

Stunning views and private beach 50m down the street. Lovely flat 20-minute walk to town. Apartment was very comfortable and we like having a kitchen. The host was very helpful in organising transfers from the train station and airport. They were very friendly.
The apartment was per photos and was a nice walk to main centre of Varenna along lake edge. A lovely restaurant just along the road. And also up the hill. Cute private beach. Taxi recommendations were handy to get to train station.
It was a wonderful home from home and you could feel the care the owners had put into preparing everything for their guests. The house was spotless with really good quality fittings. Being right on the lake with incredible views and having access to a private beach for swimming was wonderful.

An excellent location directly on the beach which was almost empty. Outdoor shower to cool your body and remove the sand from the beach. Owner willing to help and/or advise anytime you need.
We had a lovely stay at El Lavandee and really enjoyed the comfort of a larger space for our family of 5, the air con, washing machine and, especially the little private beach (through the tunnel under the road). The apartment was well equipped, clean and well styled.
It was 2km out of Varenna but there was a great multi story car park on the edge of Varenna which served us well.
Daniela and Marco were really helpful and we loved the boat hire they suggested - 3hours on Lake Como was a highlight!
