Lovely location right on the beach, perfect for sunsets. Not so many people around as the Cliffs areas, which are a 20 minute walk along the beach (bring a torch as it is not well lit). Breakfast was decent. Friendly staff. Arranged us transfers that went perfectly at a good price. Bed was comfortable. It was clean. Excellent value overall. Room door was cool with an ornate lockable bolt, writing this from a 5 star hotel that has a fake version of the same.
We loved our stay at Kerala Cottage. The location is perfect, you step out the cottage and you’re 10 steps from a beautiful beach, and stunningly warm ocean.
It was great being just far enough from Varkala cliff to have serenity but also east access to all the restaurants and facilities. The major upside was the lack of others on the beach and not having to climb a cliff after a swim.
All the staff and management couldn’t help us too much, it was a great stay with great breakfasts!

The bedrooms are very new and designed with a great taste! The garden is absolutely magnificent as well as the beach. Almost no people on the beach during my stay and the beach itself is for my taste mich better and quieter than in Varkala.
A beautiful place just 50 metres to the beach. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. There is a tasty restaurant right on the beach so you can have breakfast looking out over the ocean. All of the staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. Highly recommended.
We loved our stay at Maadathil cottages so much that we extended for an extra two nights! They were full so we were put in the Maadathil beach resort, just next door and had an even better view! The location is amazing, right on the beach and just a walk into Varkala cliff. The menu is great with many options, also it’s worth trying Babu farm for fish just a 5 minute walk away. The staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Overall we loved our stay and will be back.
