The price was good for where it is in the centre of Castro. It is at the beginning of a pedestrian lane but quiet as the restaurants are in the next lane which were very busy. The room was very small and basic but clean, had ensuite , no kettle but had a fridge. We parked in the seaside parking which was 17 euros overnight. There is blue line parking in the area which is timed paid parking and as it was a Sunday that meant all day. The cafe across the traffic road was open in the morning for some breakfast. There is a lift.

Hotel Cosmopol provided a really good 1st stop on our trip through the region. It is easy to reach from Santander with convenient on street parking.
Check in was pleasant, and straightforward and we were very pleased with our room on 2nd floor which had a balcony and panoramic view of the bay and coastline.
We enjoyed a couple of drinks at the bar before having the set menu dinner in the restaurant.
We were very impressed with the choice and quality of the set menu at 28 Euros each for 3 courses and a bottle (not 2 glasses as I had expected !) of a really nice rioja wine.
Very good breakfast choice including fresh fruit, cold meats, cheese, croissants etc.
After exploring the old town the following morning, we went back to the Cosmopol bar for "Bocadillos" and soft drinks....again very good value in our opinion.
We would stay here again if we are back in the area. Highly recommend.

This is a very nice apartment with everything you need for a stay. It was centrally located in Sopelana and close to the Metro station.
There’s nothing quite like waking up to the sound of swirling waves and the smell of sea air through your bedroom window. Beachfront accommodation comes in a variety of forms, from well decked-out resorts to secluded homestays and villas. Beach hotel amenities can include air-conditioned rooms, private terraces overlooking the sea and outdoor pools with adjacent bars.
The house has a beautiful garden and is located close to a beach. The beach is charming and great for swimming. Mostly local people. Castro Urdiales is 6 minutes by car with lots of nice bars and restaurants. Perfect location for daytrips as well both for sightseeing and hiking.
We loved it and the host is super friendly and responded very quickly to any questions we had.
Lovely, family run place right on the Camino with an incredibly friendly and helpful owner. Great sized, comfortable room in beautiful surroundings with lots of places to sit and relax. 5 minutes walk to a quiet and clean beach, highly recommended!
The apartment was very comfortable, well decorated and had a large roof terrace. Local to all amenities including the beach one way and the harbour the other where there was a great atmosphere.
Perfect apartment right on the beach and close to everything, yet still far enough from any noise. Perfect for families! The apartment is well-equipped with everything you need. The supermarket is just around the corner. I would definitely stay here again.
This place is great. Really clean and fresh. Good bed and shower. Perfect location in old town and 30 seconds from the big beach. I would come back and stay anytime. Wonderful staff. Anyone who complains obviously should have stayed at home!
