Centro Ubuntu exceeded our expectations in every way. The restaurant was great (I wasnt even aware there would be a restaurant!) the staff were so so helpful and helped us organize our transportation to and from the island and there were cute animals everywhere. Absolutely loved everything, I got the “Carey” room with the balcony right in front of the sea and there’s nothing better than waking up to that clear water view! The room was really comfortable and the food there is amazing. Also, the staff is very helping and gentle, which makes the experience even better!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND. We stayed here for two nights and wish we could stay more. It is pure relaxation - island life in a rustic and calm way. The huts are perfect, clean, bug free and just what you need. Don't expect luxury, but you have comfy beds, mosquito nets, cold running water, wifi and electricity (we had it all day and night unlike other places). The staff are fantastic and friendly, even though we spoke no Spanish and they don't know English (google translate becomes your best friend), they were super helpful and cute. They also offer snorkeling and nighttime plankton trips, although we didn't do these. The free breakfast is great too, and we paid 35,000 for lunch on our final day which is an absolute must try - the ceviche was out of this world and comes with a huge salad, rice, fries and a drink. The location itself is a little tucked out of the way but reachable from Playa Libre beach and La Cocoterra beach in under 5 mins (both are great local beaches- the latter is way busier but has more shade). Make sure you take cash - this is a cash only island.

Álvaro and his family are extremely helpful and attentive. When I mentioned that I wanted to see the bioluminescent bay, Álvaro told me no problem and a local guide came by after dark about an hour later. Most of the other guests were Colombian tourists and everyone was exceedingly kind and friendly. I mostly communicated in Spanish with staff but Álvaro speaks English well. The beach is truly minutes away and so relaxing. An excellent getaway! (Altho WI-FI was still good if you want to be connected)

The staff were super nice and always helpul!! they helped us to find everything we were looking for (the little village and the dock we had to go for our boat). We did the fishing activity and it was the best time ever! A super kind father (Jose) and his son took us on a tour of the islands, then you fish for a good 1h30 and after we did snorkeling!! the activity lasted for a good 4 hours and you have the chance to eat what you fish at night for free!! For the price of 100,000 pesos you really get the most of it, we really recommand:) Joris and Alexia
