We did a tour to Utria National park. My expectation was entering the jungle with a nature guide to look for local animals. Instead we went on a beach tour. So be sure you explaine correctly what you expect to get the right tour. The other morning we went alone on a little path behind the hotel and managed to see a group of monkeys. So there are wild animals around. For the locals they are just so normal, they don't mention them. Among the local birds are also eagles. Same thing, locals won't mention them as special, as the are regularly seen.

Beautifully situated between the sea and the jungle, very reliable and kind staff, familial and relaxed atmosphere. Would definitely go back for my next visit to Chocó! Very nice breakfast, lunch spot in walking distance.

I loved that it’s a traditional house made of wood, it is a very humid area so buildings made of cement tend to hold lots of dampness and mould, this place felt very healthy. It was very close to the beach and other hostels that have a nice night life, but also close enough to town that you can walk in easily. The rooftop is great for yoga and hanging out and the hostel is literally a 3 min walk to the beach. The owners are really caring and helpful with everything, they give you all the information you need and help book activities for you. I really enjoyed my stay with them and highly recommend this place.

Everything was great and the price-quality ratio is simply outstanding. The room was very clean and cozy (more than it appeared from the pictures), the food was excellent, and the owners were very friendly and helpful. Of course the locations right on the beach is lovely and strongly increases your chances or seeing whales and turtles! It is true that the tide makes the hotel inaccessible at some hours, but as far as we understood this is the same for all hotels located on the beach. Moreover, the owners helped us to know at what time we needed to leave every time we went on an excursion or when we left. So finally it was not too problematic thanks to them.

Actually we stayed at Casa Cielo, a wonderful bungalow up the hill which belongs to Casa Origin. In my opinion the best location at the beach El Almejal at the very end. The views are fantastic from the terrace, it’s a super cosy place and has all utilities needed. Alejandro offers exceptional thai-yoga massages and Stephanie does wonderful yoga classes. I can highly recommend to stay there.

Luisa and Lucas are excellent hosts, warm, and most hospitable. They were especially helpful in arranging tours and transportation, and sharing their knowledge of the community. The beds were comfy, all facilities were impeccably clean, towels and bed linens appeared new and washed without scented detergents, and there was water pressure that provided a refreshing shower. Accommodations are set back from the road in a lovely garden frequented by local birds and butterflies. The property is located a short walk from town, yet far enough away to remain quiet, and you can’t beat that it is across the street from the ocean.

The good service, specially Luisa which took care of finding tours when the conditions were not ideal. Nice shelters. Everything was very clean. The jungle just a few meters with a long walk behind the hotel. Many animals to be seen from the hotel, lizards, squirrel, colibri... Avialable coffee and water. Night fire.

If you are looking for a sign to book your accommodation here, THIS IS IT. Bahía Solano is one of the most beautiful and magical places I’ve been in my life and staying at Utria was, by far, the best decision I could’ve made there. Koko is such a kind human being. He makes sure that you are having a wonderful stay and books tours according to your availability. The cooking by Camila is next level and you shouldn’t worry about going to another place to eat because here you will have great options everyday. I was also lucky to meet Cristina and Ines who were wonderful volunteers and friends. The bar has outstanding drinks with friendly Araque explaining you the history behind Viche. The accommodation is extremely clean with a wonderful weather that allows you to have a pleasant sleep at night. Recommendations: Bring comfy shoes, rain garments and leave any type of useless things that disconnect you from a pleasant holiday. You are going to be between the jungle and the Pacific Ocean so being comfortable is key. I can’t wait to come back! Thank you so much Team Utria!

This is a great option in El Valle! Cheaper than other options on the beach and really comfortable beds and rooms. Plenty of toilets which is also appreciated. We didn’t have any of the meals so can’t comment on those. Nice relaxation space at the front and you’re right on the beach! Hotel next door also had wifi so we went there for a beer when it was needed.
