The Dalewood is 5 minutes’ walk from the Port McNeill waterfront and marina. The hotel is 30 minute drive from Telegraph Cove, popular for whale watching. The Dalewood is 2 minutes' walk from the ferry and taxi services.

We stayed for total 2 nights but on separate days. We went on a 3 night kayaking tour on a deserted island and since we had a briefing on Friday evening and also had to leave on Saturday early morning to get to the island by water taxi, we chose to stay in Dalewood Inn which was close to all the venues. They kindly let us leave our rental car at their parking slot until we came back from the tour on Tuesday evening - without charge! How nice of them! And also the young receptionist was extremely friendly!

I loved the room with all its coziness and outdoor deck with blankies. I so appreciated all the comfort from the owners as well. I was grieving and they took their personal time to acknowledge that and comfort and pray for me. I shall be forever grateful. Thx ever so much.

Pemba did her utmost to welcome us and make us feel at home. She cooked us a delicious, healthy gluten free porridge for breakfast and made us wonderful Indian food for supper, like prawn curry and butter chicken, as well as fresh local salmon. She gave us knowledgeable advise about the island, and a very special send-off the evening before we left. We felt very pampered! There are comfortable seating areas, inside and out, overlooking the bay. The hotel is not far from the pub, which has live local entertainment to join in on on Saturday night. A memorable experience.

With windows that give view onto the garden or ocean, a room at Alert Bay Lodge includes an en suite bathroom.

only one word: AMAZING. My family and I enjoyed the accommodation so much! Apart from the fact that the building itself (partly an old church, partly an old school) is incredibly beautiful and has been furnished and restored with great attention to detail, the hosts were super friendly and accommodating! We learned a lot about Alert Bay and even though the island is very small, you can still experience so much here. The islanders are also very friendly and always up for a good chat. Overall a great stay, we would have liked to stay a little longer to explore the neighboring islands from there. And of course it should be mentioned that we could even see whales from the beach!

The room was very clean with a very comfortable bed and a lovely ocean view. The room had a refrigerator, and *bonus* there was a common-use kitchen and barbecue available, as well as ice for drinks and/or for a cooler to take out. Staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The accommodation is in a perfect location within Port Mc Neill. The shops are within a 2 minute walk (downhill), and the BC ferry serving Alert Bay, which is a must see historic site. There was no air conditioning in the room, but the administration staff supplied a fan which was more than adequate during the unusually hot weather. There are washing machines and dryer units in the basement which are immaculate. There is ample parking available.
