If you are looking for a place that feels like home search no more. As backpackers, this is our favourite place in Colombia and it is Palomino's hidden gem. It's the kind of place that makes you keep extending - we booked three nights and stayed for two weeks. During our stay in Jaba Jan, we found everything we were looking for. It is 3km to Palomino so the town is always accessible but at the same time you can stay away from the crowds. Not only the place is incredibly beautiful and it is located in a privileged spot, but our stay was absolutely amazing thanks to the people there. The owners, Dean and Jen, are two sweethearts. From day one, they always helped us on everything we needed and made sure that our stay was comfy and truly unique. The common spaces are always filled with a great vibe and people gather up for dinner/lunch in a very familiar way. Also, Dean and Jen prepared very sweet get togethers, like canelazo or sangria nights. The activities offered by the hostel are great. The kayak tour around the mangrove is very special and Dean explains the area in a very detailed way. The environment around the hostel is very nice and wild: the river, the mangrove and the almost private beach next to it are great spaces to chill and have a good time. About the facilities, the rooms are always very clean, they have a sports space that is quite big and equipped, the open showers are super beautiful and the kitchen and common areas have everything you need to for cooking, relaxing and enjoying yourself. The price is very fair for what you get and the food (bkf, lunch and dinner) is delicious. The staff are super friendly and helpful! Couldn't recommend this place more :)

Featuring quiet street views, Donama River features accommodation with balcony, around 1.2 km from Palomino Beach. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The place and the views as well as it’s central location. The staff was very good and special with our stay, cleanliness and food that was catered for us. Hamacas and places to relax. Easy to get from main road and one block from the roads that go to the beach. Can take around 20 mins walk to the beach or 10 minute moto ride. We extended our stay.

Boasting garden views, Jui Chi MaMa provides accommodation with a garden, around 2.4 km from Palomino Beach. Very nice place in a quiet area of Palomino. Has a kitchen with everything you need and beautiful garden. The owner, Ger, is a wonderful person and he can guide you to the indigenous people village and tell interesting stories about culture and fauna. We really liked the place and felt like at home, so even decided to extend our booking from 2 to 4 nights. They have laundry service also.

Boasting a garden, shared lounge and views of inner courtyard, Casa Zaida Hostal Vintage is set in Ríohacha, 800 metres from Playa de Riohacha. An amazing homestay with warm people ! Close to the taxi parking for the Uribia station. They also provided us with parking and they offered us great coffee the morning before we leave. Zaida is a wonderful poet with positive vibes and energy . Louis ,her grandson, he was always with smile, speaks english fluently and shared usefull info about everything we asked.

With garden views, Hostal Nibuni Palomino is situated in Palomino and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and year-round outdoor pool. Everything was great, the place, the facilities, the location, breakfast. Jaime, the owner, helped us to book the tours and changed our room for a more spacious one. I will be back for sure!

Offering a lovely garden/chill out area and views of the mountain, Bella Flor Hostel Palomino is situated in Palomino, halfway between the beach and the main drive. I always go back to Bella Flor because they offer such a family-like treatment to their guests and I love the private rooms. They have just enabled their top floor for yoga classes and other activities and it's so chill!

RH05 Riohacha amplio apto mirando al mar 2Hab 4Per is situated in Ríohacha. The property has sea and city views. Great location right in front of the beach. Decent restaurants up and down the street. Furnishings were comfortable and attractive.
