We throuoghly enjoyed an amazing relaxing week at Mar Aul Villa. If you like peace and quiet away from the hussle and bussle of busy resorts then this is the place for you. The views overlooking the sea is beautiful and the owner was very helpful, friendly and always available by phone to resolve any problems or provide information. The villa comfortably accommodated our family of four. All equipment provided including bath towels, washing machine, dishwasher and other kitchen gadgets. The only thing we could not find was an iron but that was not a big deal for us. There are two mini markets and two restuarants in the village which are within walking distance. If you want to venture further out to beaches and main large towns/cities then a car is essential.

Modern and well-equipped vacation home with every conceivable comfort and most importantly, with a dedicated and flexible host who tirelessly ensures that nothing is missing and that the vacation can be enjoyed to the fullest. We stayed at the place with 12 adults and it was just amazing. We really enjoyed the vacation at the villa. The drive to the villa is somewhat arduous because of the unpaved road. So a SUV would be awesome but not necessarily, cause you get use to it. From the villa you have an amazing view over the city and the sea. The villa was equipped with everything necessary for our large group. Only wine glasses were far too little there, but otherwise we lacked nothing. Everything was very clean and especially the first floor and the ground floor were very new. In between our 7 active stay was even cleaned once. We had not expected this and were therefore very positively surprised. Each floor had a kitchen but we mainly used the one on the ground floor, cause this one was best equipped and you had easy access to the pool and terrace. From the villa you are in about 10 minutes in the next village on the beach with a few stores and good restaurants. Otherwise, you need 45 to 60 minutes to Chania or Rhetymnon. Which was perfectly okay. Next to the villa you have an area with olive trees and chicken and some goats. The chicken were quite active in the morning so it was necessary to sleep with closed windows. But otherwise it was very quiet in the neighbourhood. On the premises there were some fruit trees and vegetables were grown, which we were allowed to use. The tomatos were so delicious. Also our hostess Maria was very attentive and provided us with tips for excursions every day.
