Genuinely was beautiful! The view was stunning, the host was more than accommodating. I'm so sorry for the delay in this review, work and everything in between has just been super busy. 1 million % would book again. 10/15-minute walk into the old town. Villa is on the hill and out of the way. Additionally secluded at the end of the row, with its own private electronic gate, super quiet. Home also to 5 gorgeous cats, 2 kittens, which the gf and me loved. Host brought his mother's own homemade cooked food, and cleaned the place every 3 to 4 days, including the pool. Everything was available from takeaway menu's to towels, to anything we could ever need or desire, even got a ping pong table upon request, and again the view, from the ocean to the fort. Was great to meet the couple running the apartments. They met us on arrival and were very friendly. Spoke for a long time and very welcoming. Place was as expected from photos. Quite small, studio style rooms. Very well equipped for a small studio. We travel and stay in places for 7 nights each so we carry quite a lot of luggage. It had space for all our luggage and still had space to sit and work. The place does feel a little cramped, but that is probably due to our stuff. haha. Nice little balcony and place to hang clothes and swimming togs. Great pool you can use 24 hours. Clean and clear. Plenty of lounge chairs and even fresh pool towels are available each time. Would speak to the nice hosts daily in passing. The location is up the hill from Rethymno city. A very short drive from town, but quite a tough only up hill walk. We did this a few times more for fitness :) A Nice part to walk through and explore a few meters down the hill. Easy enough to call taxis down to town and very cheap. Around 4 euros to get you down. This is actually easier than driving down and trying to find parking and driving in Rethymno city. LOTS of 1 way streets and busy parking areas. If you have a vehicle, Evli apartments have a great parking area just across the road. Covered with tress so the cars stay cool in the share during summer. Has washing machine units to use. My fav city on Crete!!
