The host,Hendrik, is an exceptional person, willing to do anything for his guests to enjoy their stay and his part of this beautiful country called Norway. In our case, this included driving hours in the middle of the night, in the snow, to see the Northern Lights - unimaginable hospitality!! The location is wonderful, with the waterfall immediately behind the guest house, and great views of it from the common areas as well as from our bedroom. It's a good base for exploring the area, including the Polar Park, and for us was an excellent stop off point between Lofoten and Tromso. The guest house is as described - everything needed is provided (fully equipped kitchen, complimentary coffee, juice, etc). We had a double en-suite room upstairs which was spacious, comfy and clean with good heating and stunningly close view of the waterfall from the bed.

Set in Kvaløya and only 12 km from University of Tromsø, Steam Pier offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. This recently renovated apartment is located 12 km from Tromsø City Hall and 12 km from The Polar Museum. When staying at the apartment, guests can use private entrance. Apartment was perfect. Easy to get to from the airport. We rented a car and had ample space for parking. It was equally easy to get to by public transport as there is a bus stop out the front. Access to the apartment was super easy as the door just needed a code. The size of the apartment was great. We had separate space for sleeping, sitting and eating. The bed was super comfy. It was high (no issues), we would have loved having a bedside table or shelf. There were so many powerpoints! The kitchen was compact, but had all we needed. The bathroom was amazing. Shower hot and we appreciated the heated floor and mood lighting. The apartment was tastefully decorated - everything matched. We had no issues with the temperature inside - it was perfect. We never heard anything from the other apartments. We loved the aspect. It was very peaceful looking out on the water and we were entertained by a seal and deer during our stay. We could also watch the planes taking off and landing! We were pleasantly surprised to see the northern lights in the direction of Tromso! There was also a large shop just down the road that stocked absolutely everything! They are open late everyday, except closed on Sundays. We were impressed to see the driveway and car park were kept clear from snow.
