Built in 1853 and right on the picturesque Fürstenweg, a small path leading to Neuschwanstein Castle, Gutshof zum Schluxen enjoys a quiet location in the middle of fields with grazing cows and horses, and Queen Marie von Bayern stayed here with her sons Ludwig and Otto. Füssen and Reutte are only a 10-minute drive away.

The former estate offers rooms in a Tyrolean style, some of which have a balcony. Additional pillows and blankets are available on request and at a surcharge. Everything is good with the kids. We really enjoy the campfire there.

The apartment is decorated in a country style which match well with the surrounding environment. The view from the balcony is mind healing. A large pasture is right in front of the apartment with an endless mountain range as its background, which creates a beautiful picture of countryside. Also, don’t miss the Forggensee which is only 2 minutes walk from the apartment. We had a walk or picnic by the lake everyday we stayed in Schwangau. Forggensee is really a hidden gem! Lastly, we have to thank Sabestian again for his helpfulness. We are so lucky to have Sabestian as we our host. He is very patient in answering all our questions prior to or during our stay in Schwangau. He made recommendation for places to visit. He also helped us book a taxi to the train station as we had to get a train in the early morning. Thank you so much, Sabestian!

The trails to the castles are just behind the property and we hiked up there on a couple of occasions. Host was friendly and accomodating and the apartment was spacious with a nice balcony.

We stayed there in the latter half of October but if anything found the apartment too warm, even with the heating set to off! It was large enough with everything you need from kettle and toaster to coffee machine and microwave.

Short walk to Old Town and train/bus. Beautiful place to stay with very respectful and responsive host. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone staying in Fussen.

Location is perfect, you're in the city centre in only a couple of minutes walk, but also close to the Lech waterfall and walking routes. The host provided us with some nice welcoming presents which was very much appreciated.
