What to write? Everything was perfect for us: spacious one bedroom apartment with very large comfy bed, very clean, great central location and very friendly/helpful staff. Majestic Café, Restaurants, Mercado do Bolhão and São Bento train station just down the street. Only 15 minute walk (fairly steep) through the historic town down to the river. Ponte Luis I bridge, designed by a student of Eiffel, is just a metro stop away, you can then either walk down to the river (steep again) or take the cable car and visit the port wine cellars (not forgetting the huge lifelike rabbit made from junk on the way!). Then back across the lower part of the bridge to the other side. We took a tuk-tuk back up the hill. At the time we were there, only historic tram nr. 1 was running down by the river. Well worth taking a return ticket. Of course, Porto has much more to offer and a very good bus network to help you get around the city using the Porto Card. We enjoyed our 5-day city break very much.

There are no words that can express how grateful we are to Fatima & Calo for their hospitality! They made our stay so joyful, comfortable, and personal! Thank you, thank you, thank you! Now, about the place. Located near the main pedestrian street, this is a quiet house with tall and sunny windows. It’s just a walking distance away from all the major attractions in Porto. Clean, spacious, comfortable, with everything we needed - a table with chairs to have breakfast (for this later), a big bed with two kinds of pillows, a TV with international channels, a sofa (!), kitchen, a big (!) bathroom! And again - clean, clean, clean! Not to spoil all the surprises the hosts have to offer you, but the breakfast, oh, the breakfast... We still dream of those Portugal pastries. With coffee, and not that bland hotel water, but a fresh brew made especially to our taste! From the moment we checked in, with all the local tips and suggestions for the must-sees and must-tries in Porto (and around!), through the little details to the last second we stayed there, it was pure pleasure. The room was really stylish and comfortable. There was a nicely stocked kitchenette that allowed us to not have to eat out for every meal. The location was really great. It was an easy walk to ask the city's highlights and less than two blocks to the metro station for easy access to the airport, bus station or other parts of the city. The staff was really helpful and provided both information and recommendations. We would definitely stay here again!
