We loved this traditional Japanese accommodation close to Takayama train station and all of Takayama's sightseeing spots. The traditional tatami room we had was spacious, clean and quiet. The beds were very comfortable. The onsen facilities were wonderful too. The staff were extremely gracious and polite.
This place is a dream. The staff is so nice and helpful, the onsens are great. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. It feels like immersing in a Japanese dream. The hotel's village is beautiful and quiet. And it's very easy to get to Kamikochi.
The 24 hour service desk is great, they also helped with storing our luggage before our checkin time and also after we checked out before we had to leave later in the day.
The breakfast had a lot of good food and also many choices of tradition japanese breakfast and western style breakfast.
Just an amazing overall experience!! Excellent service from a throughly professional staff team. A visit to a traditional Japanese style hotel should be on every traveller’s bucket list.
Very nice stay in the center of takayama , everything is easy to reach on foot. The hotel has a nice traditional vibe and the service was excellent. Also the dinner and Japanese breakfast were excellent. Also we really appreciated the welcome tea and the help in shipping our luggage.
Fantastic very Japanese but modern hotel. I'd stay here again. The location is excellent, you can walk everywhere. We were able to park our car outside the hotel. I'd stay here again. Breakfast was also very traditionally Japanese an delicious. There's an artificial Onsen in the basement.
We didn‘t have breakfast at the hotel, so we can’t say anything about it.
Check in was very easy and quick. Our Japanese style room was spacious enough for four people and was quite clean as well. The only thing that was a bit weird was that there were four futons but only three seats…
And one thing you should maybe know before: room cleaning only takes place if you stay four nights and longer. We stayed three nights and there was only towel change and garbage collection. For us that was perfectly fine, but others might criticise that…
Such a cool stay in the traditional Japanese room. Beds were comfy and all was clean. Loved getting to borrow a kimono and do some origami in the lobby area. The private onsen was great as well, being able to use it with my partner.
Renovated by a hotel chain (Tabist), Kazeyuki offers a basic ryokan experience (without the meals) in the middle of the Japanese alps. The private baths were the highlight of our stay. If the baths were public, they could become a cluster and spread Covid. So I loved that this hotel provided the baths as private for guests in a first come first serve system. We could enjoy them with peace of mind. There are 4 baths available so there was always vacancy. The room was spacious and quiet.
