Waitapu Springs B&B is set in Takaka and offers a spa and wellness centre and a shared lounge. This 3-star bed and breakfast features a spa experience, with its sauna and hot tub. I thought it was just another homestay B&B probably a granny flat attached to the host's house where I may not even see people but it turned out to be a surprising encounter. It also operates spa and sauna that's free to B&B guests. Breakfast is included, not just those cereal or oatmeal but actually with more choices to cater different needs. Serge could even cook eggs in the way at your choice. Serge and Maria are both obviously passionate with their business. They sent useful information and guides about driving through Takaka Hill and answered questions timely before my arrival, navigated me the room and facilities when I arrived pretty late which left no fuss for me. The property has a vintage theme but the facilities are modern and hygeine. It's just a 5 minute drive from the Takaka town centre, easy for me to get there after dinner. Takaka is a stylish small town with quite some artistic shops.

Set in tranquil surroundings with beautiful gardens and just 10 minutes' North of Takaka, Patons Rock Beach Villas offers free WiFi and a barbecue. The beach is just a 4-minute walk from the property.... Beautiful location near to beach. Villa had everything we needed and was very clean and quiet. Lovely gardens.

Located in Takaka, 10 minutes' drive from the beach, The Rocks Chalets features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available on site. This was the best accommodation on our NZ trip. Not only was it dead quiet, comfy beds and super fast Wi-Fi with great amenities, it had its own glow worm cave!

Situated in the heart of Pohara Beach at Golden Bay, Ratanui Lodge was fully refurbished in winter 2021, it offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and free continental breakfast in a beautiful natural setting. Very well appointed room in lovely location and our restaurant meal was excellent. The staff were very welcoming and helpful with activities in the area.

Fantabulous location, great view, perfectly private, an extremely special spot to get away from any worries you might have. Quirky and delicious!

Located in the Mangarakau Wetland, situated 3 minutes from the beach, Wetland View Park features free WiFi, a garden and barbecue. Free private parking is available on site. Beautiful off grid experience, with lovely nearby walks and discoveries. Coffee at the local cafe is outstanding, and the glow worm tour was magic. We loved the tracks around the swamp and wetland areas. Wonderful peaceful getaway with warm and cosy accommodation.

Ideally situated for visits to Farewell Spit, or exploring the Whanganui Inlet, the waterfront Twin Waters Lodge is just 2 minutes' walk from Golden Bay. We loved the lodge atmosphere; you can make your own breakfast. The lounge area is full of wonderful books and movies

Featuring barbecue facilities, Anatoki Lodge Motel is set in Takaka, 18 km from Golden Bay. Each accommodation at the motel has garden views and free WiFi. Excellent location, spacious unit, 50 sky channels, friendly owner.

Pohara Beach TOP 10 Holiday Park offers a variety of beach-side accommodation with free on-site parking. All accommodation offers an outdoor seating area and mountain and garden views. Cabin overlooked the beach and sea which was an amazing view. Very quiet with restaurants a short 3 minute walk away. Very clean and comfortable. Small, as expected, but most of our time was spent sitting outside watching the sea. Good shower and facilities with a fridge and kettle. Loved it.
