Brand new, nice amenities, big TV and comfortable bed. Great location at the train station but quiet and walking distance to everything. Loved the pillow menu in the lobby! Also liked how the bathroom was broken up rather than the modular bathrooms in many other hotels

Beds had enough space to put bags in with a smaller locker inside the bed. They have pajamas and other free amenities near the front desk.
Close to tram stops that connect to JR Hakodate station.
Pretty interesting common area where you could sit on like a bean bag and do work while looking into the dorm room.
WiFi was good.

A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
We had a great stay at this hotel. It is ideally located close to Hakodate’s train station. We walked from there in less than 10 minutes. Our twin room was spacious, with comfortable mattresses and pillows and lots of amenities (coffee, tea, water, kettle, iron, safe, etc.). The bathroom was also spacious and very clean. The staff was friendly and the breakfast on offer had a huge selection that was fresh and tasty. The spa on the rooftop was very special.
This is my second time staying here.
It is a brilliant hotel attached to the JR Inn Hakodate station - perfect if you are coming straight off the Shinkansen. There's is a 7-11 in the station and surrounding area and other shops /eateries.
The rooms are smart, clean and have great views. Public Sento (hot bath) and free hot drinks such as coffee and tea.
You can walk to the sky view cable cart in about 30 mins.
I would not stay anywhere else.
For a semi-budget hotel with the standard modular bathroom you expect of a Japanese hotel, Four Points Sheraton Hakodate exceeded my expectations in terms of it being tastefully furnished & that the staff made sure my requests were met even though they had apologized in advance in case they couldn't. The hotel building itself is old but the rooms had been newly-renovated. I will definitely choose this hotel again if I ever return to Hakodate.
breakfast was lovely , times to use the onsen were accommodating. From Hakodate station take tram number 5 and it’ll drop you off 3mins walk from the hotel. I forgot my charger and the hotel forwarded it to my next hotel free of charge. The staff were very nice and spoke good English. Chang was amazing and made my first ryokan stay a special one. The hotel does have a card machine, disregard what it says on booking.com.
The hotel is in the same plaza as JR Hakodate station, which is also walking distance from a streetcar stop. This is easily the best location for exploring the city and taking day trips.
The room was very comfortable with a modern design. Access to a public bath is included. The bath is basic with showers, a sauna, a hot water bath, and a cold water bath. While basic, it is quite spacious and well maintained.
I would highly recommend this hotel to travelers going to Hakodate. It is centrally located (literally right across from the JR Hakodate station), and the main sites were easily accessible from the hotel. The main Yokocho area is a 5 min walk from the hotel, and the best part is that the rooms were clean, large, and very reasonably priced. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.
The hotel is located near Gokyuraku area, its about a 10 minute walk to the fort park.
I got to Hakodate around 7 and took a tram to the hotel, its a short walk from the tram stop.
Other than some unique aspects to the decoration, there wasn't anything really that stood out, and this is despite the hotel having a Sauna as a selling point. this was underwhelming.
This hotel was the second APA i stayed at and it was still really good value for money. All the way on the northern island of japan it was in a really good location just 5-10 mins away from Hakodate station and had many places nearby that you could go to eat or drink at. There was also a tram stop right outside so it would be easy to get around the city as well.
This is my 2nd trip to Hakodate and I choose to stay in this hotel again. I love it!
It locates in the Bay Area and just around 50 meters to sea. It takes just about 15 minutes walking to the JR station. There is a platform with sea view on 4th floor and it’s a good place to make friends in shared space or cook or just help yourself to enjoy.
Hotel breakfast was ok. The location is convenient, as it's only a short walk to the morning market area, where you can find a wide variety of seafood and fresh fruits. Additionally, the hotel is close to the Hakodate JR station.
Location-there is a direct walkway to hotel from Hakodate station.
View-amazing view from room
Staff-professional staff with good English. Watanabe san helped me reserve a shuttle by contacting my next hotel, thank you!
It's close to attractions such as Mt. Hakodate. The owners were incredibly sweet and nice, and went above and beyond for us. If I ever go back to Hakodate, this will be the first place I want to stay.
- well-equipped kitchen utensils
- very close to the morning market and JR station
- eco-friendly hotel (no key card)
- staff were fluent in spoken English
- huge TV in room, with YouTube function
elegant modern hotel close to the train station and the morning market - beautiful onsen on the rooftop with spectacular view of the bay - washing machine available in the room
Lovely hotel in Hakodate. Comfy beds, good onsen and fabulous breakfast, with grill master, all kinds of fish, and seafood. Great experience. I would love to stay there longer.
Everything is so new and clean. Love the spaciousness for the family. Location is great. The Hakodate Morning Market is just opposite the hotel. Lots of eateries around.
comfortable and near the Hakodate station and morning market. The room so nice view and have a cd player to play the song. Convenient store behind the hotel
