Amazing city with so much cultural and wonderful food.
Amazing city with so much cultural and wonderful food. Transport links are efficient and regular. Look for side street eateries as these are frequented by locals and the cost is much cheaper than in the main tourist areas. If you find a great restaurant see if you can book for your next visit as we were disappointed the next time we went as it was full and a queue to get it!! Avoid public holidays they are so busy.

I've been to the Eternal City many times and still haven't seen everything. A glorious place to visit. Its very crowded and very noisy - sometimes as it has always been for the past 2000+ years.

Attenzione - beware of pickpockets, especially inside Termini-Metro station!
As a Muslim, other than eating at Kebab shops, and going vegetarian (but can eat egg, seafood, not alcohol), it would be great if I could enjoy the local food (pizza, pasta and such) without worrying whether those are prepared correctly. My experience was - those vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes/snacks were served on the same plate!

Museums, galleries and historical sites were very interesting. But most sites were much too crowded. Generally we find that the first week or two of April is less crowded in western Europe but this is not the case in Rome. We wonder if part of it is cruise ship crowds being bused in from the coast. Old city centers aren't designed for that amount of people.

Rome is a city that embodies history, culture, and incredible food, making it a must-visit destination for travelers. I recently had the pleasure of exploring the city's iconic landmarks, including the Vatican Basilica and the stunning Vatican Museums. The sheer grandeur of these places is breathtaking, and the art collections are unparalleled.
The Colosseum is another highlight—stepping inside feels like a journey back in time to the days of gladiators. Castel Sant'Angelo offers a unique perspective on the city's history and has amazing views from the top. The Trevi Fountain and the Pantheon are iconic spots that simply cannot be missed. For a touch of elegance, stroll through Villa Borghese's gardens and visit the art gallery within. Piazza Navona, with its vibrant atmosphere and beautiful fountains, is perfect for people-watching and soaking in the Roman charm.
Rome's food scene is a feast for the senses. From delicious pasta and pizza to creamy ice cream and delectable desserts, every meal was a delight. There are countless restaurants serving authentic Italian cuisine, making it easy to find a great meal no matter where you are.
I strongly recommend taking a guided tour to get the most out of your visit to the main attractions. It adds a lot of value, providing insights and stories that bring the history to life. Rome has so much to offer, and I'm already planning my next visit!
The Room was well laid out and was super convenient to the Metro station, just steps away from the entrance. The bed/pillows were one of the most comfortable I had during my 2 week journey through Italy.
AC was able to keep the room cold on a hot summer evening. And the washroom/shower was surprisingly spacious compared to the average Italian accommodation.
Keep in mind this is not a 4 or 5 star hotel. But the room was was far from basic, and Rome can be expensive (even for hostels)
The bed was very spacious and very comfortable! I slept like a baby. It is also in the perfect location, right next to the station and has access to a lot of busses so it should be very easy to get around rome. The staff were amazing, specifically Jessica and Elvis, they made me feel very welcome. There’s a heatwave in italy so even after I have checked out, they made it very easy for me to rest in the hotel and even gave me towels to have a shower. Would definitely stay here again!!
The location could not be improved. Everything you could wish to see in Rome is within walking distance.
The staff are friendly and very helpful. The room was clean and neat. The hotel is quiet - remarkably so, given it’s central location.
The breakfast is nothing special, but that is normal in Italy. The coffee and pastries are good - because for an Italian that is what counts. If you want an egg white omelette with non gluten toast you really are in the wrong country.
This is my first stay at any hotel in Italy and I can honestly say that the receptionist set a high standard, the check in process was easy and accommodating, recommending me her own personal favorite restaurants that aren't tourist traps and wow that made the trip really great, eating authentic Italian food is the best way to start discovering Rome.
The rooftop for breakfast was fantastic, having some options to eat before walking around in Rome was helpful.
There was heavy rain in Milan area from.Oct 31 to couple of days, which left public transportation on halt, and road and street flood, but this hotel uncooperative on refunding my money that I had paid in advanced. Plus on top of that this hotel isn't providing any other option for customers. Once everything is on halted in milan italy then what my family and I would do, we cannot able travel any other places, which this hotel has hard time understanding,
The very best breakfast i have had in Italy, over the past 7 years of travelling around Italy. The hotel is a very well kept building and has a modern feel to it. The staff are all very helpful and especially the bar tender, who also oversees the dining area - Thank you. The location is not in the center of Rome and its a short bus ride to the nearest Metro station - but the busses & Metro are frequent and easy to use.
The hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from Roma Termini station. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there was a good selection at breakfast of both continental and cooked options. We stayed on two occasions on a recent trip to Italy and on our second stay we were upgraded free of charge to a junior suite which was very spacious. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Rome.
The room was nice and clean. Alessia communicated well and gave good instructions for check in. She also cleaned up the room everyday which was appreciated. Breakfast was coffee and a pastry which is to be expected in Italy. Only a 12 minute walk to Rome Termini and 20 to 30 to any major attractions. Neighborhood looks a little rough but we never had any issue. Good value for the price.
The people! We came back to Hotel Grifo to spend our final night in Rome before leaving Italy. We had previously spent 5 nights here exploring and enjoying the area. I left a more detailed review earlier and all the good things still apply! We enjoyed both of our stays here and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an interesting, comfortable and friendly environment.
- Breakfast was amazing. Lots of variety, including pastries, eggs and bacon, cold cuts, buns, cereal and fruit. The staff can give you cappuccinos if you ask (as they aren't advertised).
- Elevator was spacious. Most of the hotels in Italy have smaller elevators so it was nice to fit all our luggages at once.
- Beds were comfortable and the bathroom was big.
Excellent location in an excellent apartment served by outstanding staff. Best stay of the
14 places we stayed in our near month in Italy. Cannot say enough good things. Everything was well maintained from walls to furniture to plumbing to kitchen gadgets. Will be first choice if we return to Rome. Six stars out of five!!
Very clean rooms, comfortable and nice looking I think the best hotel we have experienced so far in Italy. Just next to the metro station and away from the crowd - best location to explore Rome The host is very friendly. I was did not want to leave as I felt so relaxed and wanted to stay longer.
Fabulous hotel in great position in Rome. The most comfortable beds in Italy. No I am not kidding!! Great roof top bar/ breakfast area. Fabulous breakfast. What else, great shower too and product!! What more could you ask for. It's a perfect holiday right here!!
The hotel was in close proximity to Trastevere and the bus to the Rome Termini. The room was large compared to the hotels we have stayed in when in Italy. The rooftop breakfast area provided a great view toward the centre of Rome. Definitely a recommendation.
The room was incredible, very beautifully decorated, high wooden ceilings, super clean and tidy, felt like in Rome 😜. It has a lift to the 5th floor so you don’t have to carry your bags through the stairs like everywhere else in Italy 👌🏻
This is most probably the best hotel in Rome.
It has the standard of a 5 start hotel! Premium service starting from the first hello to the late check out. Elegant room design with a very nice view of the city. Top of the Tops!
We booked many hotels on our vacation across Italy. None came close to Domus Romantica. Most comfortable bed, most romantic ambiance, most elegant design, and most communicative and accommodating staff hands down.
We had a fantastic stay. The hotel is in a great location. Close to the train station and very easy to get to all the main sites in Rome. The room was the cleanest we have stayed in in Italy!
Very good Location if you need a hotel close to where the buses go from to Rome Airport
Breakfast very good for Italy, the best of the three hotels we stayed at in Italy
The warmth of the staff was exceptional.
The location of the hotel just could not be better for those wanting to be at the centre of Rome, Italy and the Universe.
