Downtown location was great. Given its location, the room was surprisingly quiet. Decor of the room and the overall ambience was interesting, the hotel being an old jail Being downtown, the free parking was useful. The hostess was very accommodating and pleasant. We had an informative discussion of life in Cobourg and she gave us good suggestions for where to go for dinner and breakfast.

Port Hope is a beautiful quaint little Town and people are very friendly and they have a beautiful Park right downtown with a clean washroom. Plus on Thursday they have some kind of shows in the Park and Saturdays there is a wonderful Farmers Market.

Love the downtown area very well kept Old Buildings, plus a beautiful Park and on Saturdays the Farmers Market with wonderful goodies fresh from the Farms around. There was more I wanted to see and do, but I had only 3 days. It's a great jumping off place for other towns, villages and sites in the area as well. If you love architecture, the picturesque, and some great atmospheric restaurants...Port Hope has it.Plander - 10Scored 10
We enjoyed a live show at the Capitol Theatre.
We enjoyed a live show at the Capitol Theatre. There are many great places to eat. We especially liked a bakery/cafe on Walton that serves great sandwiches and wonderful pastries at an affordable price "Sugar Bush" cafe, I believe.

Very scenic and quaint downtown strip of businesses in historic buildings, well maintained. Variety of restaurants, outdoor patios, antique shops and unique stores. Very pleasant to walk around downtown and surrounding area. Impressive that the town preserved the historic character many years ago.

You can tell this family run business trying puts their heart into the business. They have completed many upgrades throughout the property with quality finishes. We stayed one night as we were passing through town. The bed was very comfortable, the room was exceptionally clean and the towels were so soft. Very quiet location. Very nice Italian restaurant on ground floor with great outdoor patio. Comfortable rooms with 12 feet ceilings. Friendly staff. The room we stayed in had a portable air conditioner that was attached to the window. I think that was to avoid having to use central air during COVID. Lots of restaurants and pubs to choose from in town.
