Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesThe fire alarm went off at 4am, that's not necessarily the hotel's fault, however, there was not one staff person to be seen until after the fire dept came and cleared everyone to go back in. No one came out where we were all standing (in the pouring rain) to say anything or give any kind of direction or offer any kind of explanation or comfort.
It was very nice, clean and it actually smelled really good!

United StatesThere was no safe in our room and we were on a long vacation with a lot of expensive stuff. Staff could not get the safe in the office to work for us.
Our room was a suite and it was exceptional for the two of us. The wedding we attended was close by and the reception before was here so the location was perfect.

United StatesWhen I arrived I asked about Uber eats and how they handle that. I was told delivery people are allowed to bring food directly to the room! I was very dismayed to hear that anyone other than staff and guests are allowed up into the hotel floors. Safety at a facility is a large part of where I choose to stay. This was a red flag for me.
Very nice staff... especially the young man who works the coffee shop in the morning. He was lovely. The facility is really clean. Comfy.

United StatesThe pool was closed. Specifically booked this hotel because of the pool. It was not mentioned anywhere that the pool was closed. When we looked at it it was drained and clearly not something that just happened. When you are traveling with kids they look forward to the small things and it's disappointing when a property doesn't clearly identify that one of its amenities is not available. Has an outdoor space with a fire pit but it was dark and not very inviting
