Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilThe staff was really nice to us, letting us check-in before the time we were supposed to. The hotel building and spaces look old, but everything was organized. The room was all set and clean for us. We didn’t have any problem for a short stay.

United StatesDefinitely can tell that the facility can use some updated equipment. I understand that it is a budget hotel but there were some concerns I had regarding electrical junction boxes in my room that were coming out of the walls and made charging things a tricky endeavor. Also the bathroom I used on the third floor seems to have a pretty severe leak they need to address soon.
Quirky and unique location to post up for a few days while in the city. The hotel lives up to its artsy reputation and was a real trip to experience the hallways. Oh, and the lobby cat is the real star of the show here. The guy who checked me in was super laid back and let me choose my own room out of 5 available choices.

IrelandThe hotel is really old and it shows, it is a bit dated. There is no ensuite you have to share the toilet or shower. This didn't bother me but it might others.
Good location near restaurants, bars and tourist attractions i.e. Lexington Iron Building, Madison Square Park and within a walk of 30 minutes to other great tourist spots. The hotel has its own water fountain which is handy to fill up your water bottle. Had a small room where you could make your tea or coffee. Price is reasonable for New York and its location. There is a lovely black cat that you can find anywhere in the hotel. The beds were comfortable and the hotel was cleaned daily.

United StatesIt’s old and in need of renovation. Cleanliness of the beds and bath were fine, but the walls (painted with all kinds of art) have not been maintained properly. Also the stairs were a bit tricky to navigate.
Good location, quirky design and decor. Lots of…character.

BelgiumNot so much. All the staff members werent equally friendly but basically they did their job. Maybe only one toilet per floor isnt really enough but we managed.
Great value for the price. Compfy bed in a pretty clean room. Perfect location no so far from East Village and 30 minutes walk from West Village.

AustraliaMore than one shared bathroom on the same floor would've been good but only a slight criticism. Glad we didn't have a room any higher as carrying suitcases up the tight staircase was a struggle.
Quirky and different - very cool and unusual decor throughout. Loved the location - plenty of bars, cafes and restaurants nearby and also handy for public transport. Room was basic but bed and pillows were really comfortable.

AustraliaClanging pipes 3 to 4 times a night (wasn't winter) narrow, steep stairwell. Barely warm water for shower and no shelf or sink in bathroom. Ok if willing to live out of suitcase.
Beds/pillows were memory foam and very comfortable. It was reasonably priced and in good area. Gave us spare room to use as our shower tap handle was broken and assisted with luggage. It was clean and served our purpose.

United StatesLocks on door to room are pitiful. We locked our door and when we came back the door was open. Lucky nothing was stolen but it shook us up. Please replace your 30 year old locks with newer, sturdier deadbolt locks.
Location and staff were great. Very nice and friendly. Do not book if you’re a hotel snob-this isn’t a Hilton. It’s a room with a bed and a bathroom.
