Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

IrelandNo storage drawer or cupboard in the bathroom although there was ample space for one which meant no where to put away your travel toiletries etc which takes away from the aesthetic of the space. I would consider that a design flaw. No bath, surprisingly. I was expecting one. The shower on and off knob was not straightforward to use, another design flaw. No privacy guaranteed as a staff member entered the room while I was out to turn on evening lamps etc, no need for that or if necessary it should be mentioned upon checking in. I felt like my mother had been in picking up after me! The minibar menu and prices were no where to be seen. I asked about that later and apparently there was a QR code somewhere. I didn’t see it.
The upgrade on arrival to a suite was greatly appreciated. I arrived early in the morning and they were happy to accommodate me ahead of the arrival time and directed me to breakfast. This was the best thing about the stay. The breakfast buffet was really good. The central display was beautiful. The fresh fruit selection was really good and fresh as were the meat and cheese selection, plenty of choice there, I’m really not sure if they cooked any hot food to order as I wasn’t offered any. The service depended on where you were seated, closer to the bar area = service. I was seated by the door.

United KingdomPool was a bit small and only really for a dip rather than a swim. Times for taking children in - it would have been nice to have an afternoon time slot but these are really minimal issues.
The staff were lovely and very helpful. Great recommendations for where to eat and really helpful getting us a table. Breakfast was super yummy with lots of options that went beyond a usual continental breakfast.

United StatesIt was a bit of a walk from the core of the city center and the river. This was not a surprise given the location is a 9.4 vs. a 9.9 at other places like the Porto Bay. It's not a long walk, and the tradeoff was having the pool.
The hotel was amazing and having a pool was great, especially during the hot days. The staff were incredible and if you have a car, there's parking nearby.

United KingdomSuch a lovely hotel, we have travelled the world and this is up there with the very best. Great staff, beautiful rooms, lovely breakfast - there was nothing to fault and the outside swimming pool, garden and sun lounger seating areas in the middle of a city were a bonus and helped make the holiday. Hotel only opened a year ago after a 4 year refurbishment - privately owned 5 star Hotel and the co-owner Antonio was often to be seen - he clearly has a passion for design - so many little touches to be appreciated - if we ever return to Porto this is where we will stay

United StatesThe breakfast was fantastic, although service could be slow during busy periods. The hostess did jump in to help the server when we asked. Parking was tight and it was cheaper to pay the parking facility direct than to book via the hotel.
One of the best places we stayed during our trip to Portugal. The property is beautifully appointed, and the service was exceptional. I would definitely return and have already recommended the property to friends.

Honestly we loved everything from airport pick up to arrival at the hotel, the staff were just the right balance between professional and friendly, offering advice and recommendations on local area and ensuring we had everything we needed, the hotel itself is just stunning, beautifully decorated and extremely clean in all areas, ( smelt amazing too)
