Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Beautiful home in stunning location on the Belmullet Peninsular. Josephine was friendly, we had great chats, and she cooked a delicious vege breakfast (our best scrambled eggs in Ireland!) both mornings. Made us a cuppa and slice of cake on arrival and had suggestions of places to visit. We loved walking to the beach, sitting in the summer house looking for the Northern Lights and walking to the west coast at sunset.

GermanyThere are hosts, and there is Josephine. She’s wonderful, that kind of host who likes to welcome her guests with open arms. We got a wonderful breakfast and precious tips. We made a ship tour and thanks to Josephine’s advice, I saw the northern lights for the first time in my life.

I was in a big room (family room) - very good bed, slept like a baby (or a king;-) Josephine, the host, was extremely friendly and very supportive regarding things to do (the SOLAS museum - was fantastic), or the boat ride to Inish-Kea.

United KingdomIt's no reflection on Bru Chlann Lir, but do some planning before your stay as pretty much everything requires driving / hiking / cycling. We were nursing a knee injury at the time so pretty limited, but that's our problem. The area is quite remote if you're hoping for craic but a great "get away from it all" with amazing beaches and some fascinating history.
Josephine is an amazing host, made us feel very welcome from the minute we arrived. The house is immaculately kept yet still relaxed. Comfy room, great views and a perfectly prepared breakfast.

United KingdomEverything was good!
The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was extremely good, probably the best breakfast I've had at a B&B. Great choices to start with plus excellent Irish cooked breakfast or delicious home made pancakes. We had the family room and it was really spacious light and airy for 4 of us. Would happily stay here again. It's in a lovely quiet location but there is a lovely sandy beach about 15-20 minutes easy walk away.

IrelandNothing at all.
The place is spotless. Josephine, her neighbour and her husband and family go above and beyond with breakfast. You have everything you could possibly want and more. You certainly won't leave this place hungry. All their little personal touches are lovely. It's a beautiful little BnB for sure. They are just good people running an honest business and doing a fantastic job of it.

NetherlandsFor dinner Belmullet is a 15 minute drive, but as it was peak season you have to book a restaurant ahead of time as it was difficult to find something.

We have returned to the UK today from our trip to Ireland. I’m not someone who normally leaves reviews but this time I felt it was only fair to tell you about this fantastic property. We booked the family room with en-suite for an 8 day stay to attend a friends wedding and have a family holiday. Upon arriving at the property (we were early) we were greeted by the warmest and kindest lady. She showed us to our room and we were very pleased with the space we had. 2 adults, a teenage boy and a 5 year old had plenty of space to store everything and move about freely. The view from the room was spectacular with sea views and even the opportunity for us to witness the Northern Lights on our second evening. Upon arrival we were provided with scones and tea and then left to unpack our belongings and start to explore the area. Josephine, the landlady, was so helpful, offering advice on where to go, what to see. She was always free for a chat and was very sweet with our young daughter. The breakfast options were amazing and whilst we (the adults) primarily ate the Irish Breakfast, the children enjoyed pancakes, fruit, pastries, yogurts, cereals. The coffee in the mornings was very welcomed and tasty. The communal space downstairs was very comfortable with lots of information on the local area, playing cards, sofas, rocking chair and the garden had a swing and slide too. Josephine was an amazing landlady and went above and beyond for us throughout our entire trip. We hope to return in the future.

Rooms are cosy and comfotable. Everything you need and more. The bathroom was big and shower was fabulous. All the little extras were apprieated. Breakfast each morning was relaxed with delicous and plentiful food. The pancakes and scambled egg was our favourite.
