Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

FranceMain complaint is no soundproof: there was a lot of noise from the neighbours who arrived at 2:00 in the morning, we could hear them talking and the door bangs. Another thing is a hard mattress, it is ok to sleep on, but have neck pain in the mornings
The hotel is located in a nice quarter, plenty of nice restaurants nearby, and you can walk to Paris in about 30-40 min. We've arrived late and there is definitely 24h desk, I was a bit concerned reading other reviews.

SwedenThe drain in the bathroom was almost not working. The water didn’t want to go down so it was a bit difficult to wash your face because the sink would fill up and take a long time to go down again.
The location was perfect, the hotel was very close to a few metro stations were we could easily go to all the sightseeing.

Czech Republic- They claim their staff can speak several languages, and they could barely use French. The English was barely understandable and their interactions were awkward. We were left in the lobby for a while because the person "attending" us did not speak English and we had to wait until somebody else would come our way. - There is no absolute claim about English being mandatory, BUT, if your organization claims (with that phrase and a bunch of flags (7) printed in a sheet of paper and pasted in their lobby) they speak SEVERAL languages, and we suddenly get stuck in French with somebody who was certainly untrained and unfit for the role, then you are not living up to your offerings. - The hotel is an old building and the style matches that look and intention. The elevator is for 2 people and stairs narrow. Watch out for the breakfast area, it is located in the basement (one floor down from the lobby). - You are not allowed to eat in the room, and you are threatened with a 40 euro charge if they have to clean after you.
After the check-in was done, all went good. No complaints about it :)

NetherlandsI was a single person but the room I received had a child's bed taking up half the room. Funny thing was, the child's bed was softer/more comfortable than the regular bed. the breakfast was NOT worth any amount of money. packaged food, in FRANCE?!? you had to cook/boil the eggs yourself and it took >20 minutes... I had to leave before it was finished :( The food at the train station was more affordable and fresh!

He promptly arranged for a key to look at two rooms since one was at the ground floor and the other one was on the second floor front side. So we even had the choide of room!
