Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaThe bed was a bit hard, no lift and we had a room on the top floor with a heavy suitcase. Our host was helpful with managing this.

We stayed in La chambre de Mathilde which was a beautiful room overlooking the garden. It was full of character and history. The breakfast room was similar and the breakfast itself wonderfully laid out and delicious. My husband had a medical emergency on arriving in Angers and the hosts Mr and Mrs Huss could not have been more helpful and kind. Fortunately after investigations in hospital all was well. We will definitely visit again.

FranceOn arrival there was a small, handwritten note on the door that the doorbell was not working and you had to call. I had a problem reading all the digits and called the wrong number first. But that's just a minor complaint.
The room was very comfortable and spacious, even with a small side room for luggage and wardrobe. I also appreciated the kettle to make my own tea. The jam for breakfast deserves a special mention - simply delicious.

United KingdomNot a problem for us but there was no lift. The stairs were polished wood in an elegant large spiral. Our room was up 30 stairs. Parking was in a public undercover car park about 6 minutes walk away. The cost was 12€ a day. We would have found it difficult to spot the property without a reliable satnav as it's in a terrace in a side street. (See screenshot of Google maps photo)
The property was interesting and elegant. Built around 1850. The host was friendly and accommodating. He speaks Polish, Russian, English and French. The breakfast was all home-made: yoghurt, honey, jams, croissants, bread, orange juice, tea/coffee and fresh milk. The room was large and elegant. There was even a small dressing room. The bathroom wasn't luxurious but perfectly appointed. The shower was a walk-in cabinet. There were books galore, some of which containing fantastic photos taken by our host, who was a retired professional photographer. The location was great: 5 minutes walk from the centre, where there was a myriad of restaurants.

AustraliaWe stayed on 3rd floor and wifi would only work when we stood near door. Not an issue for a one night stay really.
Massive room overlooking a very quiet courtyard. Beds very comfortable and we had great showers. Our bikes were stored safely inside the entrance. Tea and coffee in room was nice (had to search for milk). Even a bottle of water which was appreciated. Breakfast was laid out beautifully with fresh tea and coffee. Really a nice touch.

United KingdomOur room (Josephine) was on the second floor up two flights of quite steep stairs. The email from Booking.com with the keypad entry code converted the numbers into ## when translated into English; fortunately the owner was in and able to answer the doorbell to let us in when we arrived.
We had a lovely spacious room which was furnished with antiques. There was storage for our bikes in the locked entrance courtyard. Breakfast was good and included home made preserves and honey from the owner's own beehives!
