Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

IndiaAmazing property, the chalets are extremely comfortable with good views of the lake and great ones of the sky. The fireplace, the sauna all really help keeping warm and its utterly cosy. The additional space is always useful even between just two people. The floor-ceiling windows in the chalet give pretty good northern light views, though the best ones are definitely from across the lake. The property also provides full winter gear if you book any activity with them, to keep for the duration of the stay, which really is useful!

NetherlandsThe toilet smelled really bad, it must have been the drainage. The personnel felt a bit rushed when we checked in, we had to pull our luggage through the snow, they said there was some sled to make it easier but could t find it.
So location is top notch for Inari. Attached to the lake which gives you fantastic opportunity to see the northern lights. The cabin we had was nice and cozy, modernly decorated. The bed was great, we could eventually see the Aurora from our bedroom window (north west/west). Parking is free, enough space around the hotel.

United States of AmericaThe shower space felt small compared to what we’re accustomed.
From first pick up until finally drop off at the Ivalo airport the Wilderness Hotel Inari took exception care of all our needs, hopes, and dreams. We arrived at the hotel late in the evening and were immediately encouraged to enjoy the buffet before the hassle of checking in. This made a strong first impression on us, our comfort was their top priority. This impression would continue to be fortified each day in different small ways that made our trip beyond our expectations. Each item of the buffet was very well prepared and the variety allowed us to experience local flavors as well as classic dishes known around the world. I personally started with the soup of the day and freshly made bread before sampling the multiple protein and vegetarian options. The desserts looked wonderful and varied from day to day, however I left my sweet tooth at home. We stayed in a chalet and an aurora cabin a found both very nice, however, the chalet was our very favorite due to increased privacy, space, and of course, the sauna. The beds were very comfortable and the floors warm (very comforting after adventuring out in the cold!) We failed to bring enough cold weather clothing, which was no problem because we were provided quality boots, gloves, and snow suits. These were essential to our ability to enjoy the activities throughout our time. We picked a new saying, “there is no bad weather, only bad clothing” and the Wilderness Hotel Inari helped us appreciate this wisdom. We enjoyed several of the many adventures offered including some Aurora hunting expeditions, ice fishing, and the husky safari. All our guides were kind, helpful, and focused on our enjoyment. We had great success in viewing the Aurora activity and we think our photo’s came out amazing (only using our phones!) Without a doubt, this trip exceeded our hopes and for a price that felt very fair for the service and comfort.

United Kingdomnothing really -it was all good
Staff were great, food was varied and tasty, location was perfect. I try not to raise my expectations too much when going on holiday but I was pleasantly surprised at how efficient everything was run and how good the hotel was in general. Glad I chose the chalet though, great having the private sauna to thaw out :)

United KingdomActivities are expensive. We asked about a bus transfer to the airport and were told that there wasn't a bus, but that we could take a shuttle for 110eur for the 2 of us. We then asked at the tourist information centre in town and they told us about a bus which took us from the hotel directly to the airport for only 60eur. The hotel is basically a mass tourism money making machine.
Nice warm room with very comfortable beds. Lots of activities on offer but we didn't do any of those. Buffet food was ok but not great for vegetarians.

United KingdomGreat experience. The hotel looks smaller than the photos. You can buy a package or do your own. I stayed 4 nights, it was cloudy most of the time but managed to see the auroras 1 night and it was worth it. I recommend the aurora camp, husky safary, cross country skiing(if you are a skiier it might bored you and you can rent just the skiies instead) and snowmobile trips. The staff was really nice and helpeful, and the tour guides too (especially Maria). I stayed 2 nights in 2 different rooms: Wilderness room: it's the cheapest room but very comfortable. Nice as an hotel room. It has a mini fridge, a tv (you can cast your phone with Netflix/prime...) and great WIFI connection. You can hear your neighbours BUT the guests aren't party people type so at night you will hear total silence. Close to the reception and road but didn't hear the cars. Aurora Cabin room: No window for fresh air(the only way to get fresh air is opening the door);great sky view(if not cloudy.the view of the auroras during the night were amazing); twin beds put together!; no mini fridge; no tv; no WIFI (not even in the closest one to the reception 501 ,so you won't get the aurora whatsapp alert). Ivalo airport to/from Wilderness Inari hotel transport: I used shuttle bus Ilmari Slant Ky. The hotel can book a private car for 3 people for 120€(on the review people complained that it wasn't a taxi but a shared van though). IF you are traveling solo/couple, Ilmari Slant Ky shared shuttle bus i found is the best/cheapest option that will take you directly to Wilderness Hotel Inari: (30€ adults,15€ kids). You can pay online or directly to the driver (ONLY CARD,no cash as it says on the web) BUT book your seat online so they wait for you. Don't look for the company name on the people waiting at the door,go out the main door and you will see the white van with name logo parked.

GermanyAlthough the dinner was great, the breakfast could have been a little bit more varied. For the price you have to pay, we expected some additional products in the shower and not only one shower gel for all. We paid for one session in the sauna but it was nearly not heated at all and it felt more like 50°C and not like a sauna.
The stuff was incredibly friendly and courteous. We liked the dinner, the frozen lake and the whole atmosphere in this hotel.

Hotel: Perfect location and the staffs are really kind and helpful! The breakfast and dinner are really nice with a great variety of food. Cabin is really neat! Surrounding: The surrounding is really quiet and we even got to spot reindeers and see Aurora at the lake, which is behind the hotel. Extra Info: The ride to Inari center is around 20 minutes by taxi (around 23 Euro) and ride to airport is around 40 minutes by taxi (around 132 Euro).

ItalyI don't suggest to do "Aurora hunting by car" as activity ( 3 hours outdoor, very cold and no aurora to see) . You can admire Aurora easily outside the hotel between 5 and 8 p.m. It would be great a free shuttle 2/3 times a day to visit Inari (40 minutes walking).
Best location in Inari lake to see Northern Light. Good buffet Breakfast/dinner. Amazing sauna with lake view.

United KingdomEven though we saw aurora, there was quite a lot of light pollution from nearby cabins still with their lights on. This is generic to lapland in general. If you want snacks outside of meal times, it is 5 euro for half a tub of pringles. 5 euro for thin chocolate slab. Or 3 bars of choc for 5 euros. I bought 1 half tub, 2 choc slabs, thin fanta and bag of crisps and its like 25 euro. I felt Each time I bought a snack for 2 people it was around 25/30 euro. The husky safari we went on was not as good as at kakslauttenen. It goes over the frozen lake inari when we visited in December 13th and 14th. The dogs seem to poop the whole way which obviously can't help but ours seemed to just have the runs. Being face level with the dogs was a bit gross then if you're the one sitting in the sleigh. We then sled over all the other dogs poop. I'm not an expert but just my experience. This wasn't the case in kakslauttenen. Also the dogs here at inari, there were very few typical looking Husky. Kakslauttenen had more than looked Husky like. The aurora hunting activity was on our.last night 8pm until 11pm. It was super cloudy and we drove pretty much to the border with Norway. However we didn't see anything. This can't be helped by the organisers. Just little personal disappointment with this as it cost so much. The two guides were so lovely though and we did get hot juice/biscuits and offered hand warmers etc.
We stayed in one of the Wilderness rooms for 2 nights. As soon as we arrived at 4.30pm, I rented the aurora alarm for 10euro a night and walked a minute across the courtyard to the room block. It is literally a stone throw away and the auroras started happening over the lake. For anyone curious, our auroras were kind of bright grey and you could see lines in the sky but not bright green. When you take a photo with your phone however they are bright green. To see with your eyes it depends on the strength of the aurora. But thankful to have seen them as we'd been in lapland 4 nights already and Kakuslatten to no avail. The beds are comfortable with nice hot water, TV, and you can pick up warm clothing for free with your stay between 8 and 9am in the morning (or I think 6 and 7 in the pm]. The buffet breakfast was 7am to 10am. Toast station with jam or ready made batter mix for toasting your own waffles. Salad and cheese/hams. Bacon/beans and scrambled eggs/hard boiled eggs/red small franfurter sausages and meatballs. Tea/coffee/water. Cereals also. So the buffet was quite a good selection.
