Our cabin stay was truly remarkable, offering a touch of luxury at every turn. We were blown away by the aurora alarm clock, which let us catch stunning views of the aurora borealis right from our cabin. The dinner and breakfast were top-notch, and the room itself was simply stunning. What really made our stay very convenient were the activities available, like husky rides and reindeer safaris, also private sauna. We opted for the reindeer safari, which we enjoyed the most. Plus, having our owen tablet in the room for extra info was a nice touch. Indeed, it was a splurge, but it was worth every penny for such an unforgettable experience. Highly recommend this place for a luxury getaway!

    Nothing

Cabins were perfectly cosy individual hide aways in the snow. Warm, bathroom, cosy beds with huge view out of the roof. Easy access to cabins. Great food with friendly staff, constantly replenishing dishes. Inviting main eating and resting area. All activities can be booked from this location.

Very hard to find something to write here. If I am trying to think of something to say, it would be that the reindeer were always in the lower enclosure when we looked and not close or easy to see from the fence line.

The Northern Lights Village was simply incredible. The aurora cabins were perfect, very clean and modern. We were lucky enough to be able to watch the stars and the Northern Lights from bed one evening. We even had Rituals products in the bathroom! The restaurant and bar was a great communal space and we couldn’t fault the food at all, every dish was fantastic with plenty of choice. A massive thank you to all the staff who were very helpful, welcoming and made our stay so memorable!

Disapointed about the cruelty they do with the dogs in the Hotel to offer a hushky experience, dogs are not Hushky therefore dogs suffer the coldnest and due to the dogs behaivor it is clear they are not well treated. Dogs work a lot. Hushkish are the right breed to support the weather and pulling the sled, bit they have other kind of dogs and it is evident the dos are suffering. Very slim and poor hair.

The waiting staff could have been more interactive

We had the best time in Northern lights village , the cabin was very cosy and the view from it like a white magic. Out of 4 nights we saw the northern lights in 3 nights . The cabins were close to the main shops in Saariselka, and everywhere there r nice walking paths to get to wherever you wish. The restaurant was very stylish and the food was divine!!! We were so impressed with the tasty food we asked Alexandros (the waiter) who the chef was ,because we wanted to know if he was the tall, shy man with the white uniform that was checking randomly the food at the buffet and when he came out we clapped at him !!! The food was that good ! The waiting staff were the only let down as they were not friendly and didn't greet us ( there were few exceptions, one Asian lady , the Filipino guy - Butzz and the greek guy -Alexandros who were always smiling and very friendly and polite ! Thank you for the amazing experience and we hope to visit the northern lights village again !

The only tiny suggestion for improvement I would make for the hotel is for a more comfortable bed. We stayed in cabin 65, and talking to other guests I believe they were not all exactly the same.

We had the most amazing time during our stay at the northern lights village. The cabin was an experience on its own, cozy and yet spacious. The food was very good and we particularly liked the extended time for breakfast and dinner (e.g., dinner from 5pm to 9pm). The experiences offered by the hotel are truly life experiences. We went on the snowshoeing in the forest, the aurora camp by the lake, the aurora camp on the border, snowmobiling, and reindeer express. The experiences are very well organised, and they afforded us the most beautiful views our eyes have ever seen. We also went to the Saariselkä ski resort one day which is not part of the hotel but it’s a 5 minute drive and the hotel offers a transfer. The hotel also offers a transfer to and from the hotel and everything went so smoothly! If I had to choose one, I’d say that the most precious thing about the northern lights village is the staff. Every single one was exceptionally friendly and helpful, from the staff in the reception, in the restaurant, the drivers and tour guides. Special thank you to guide Marcelo, who loves Saariselka and went above and beyond to show us the beauty that he sees in this magical place. Our snowmobiling experience with him was indescribable and unforgettable.

Although we loved everything about our stay, the rates were a bit high and for certain activities we found they were not worth such a high price

The atmosphere was magical, the staff were all so helpful and friendly, and the food was delicious. The booking process of all the activities was very smooth. I also like that they lend us free winter gear for the duration of our stay.

For that price, we expected a little better food. It was not bad, but little choice, and low quality.. "Scrambled eggs" for breakfast are not really eggs. Overwall, good services, the restaurant is open almost whole day, Bar is also optional.

The place is very beautiful, the Aurora Hut was very well equipped, clean, and comfy. The sorroundings, when covered in snow are beautiful. We think that the aurora Hut is better than the Glass Igloos. The laser heated windows worked perfectly, and the inside was also warm, with heated floor. We really enjoyed one night on our Honeymoon here. There are also all sorts of activities, which you can book directly from an Tablet in your Hut.

The 'copy-and-paste' nature of the igloos takes away a little bit of the charm - there are around 80 in total, in rows. Controlling the temperature in the room required a maintenance person to be sent to the room (ours was too hot) which seems crazy. The maintenance guy was quick and friendly, but the fact the guest couldn't control this by themselves seems like an odd decision. There's only enough hot water for 15-20 minutes at a time, and then you need to wait 30 minutes for more. This is totally reasonable though, given it's an igloo in the arctic!

The igloos themselves are beautiful, cosy and considerably large all things considered. The amenities are good; a mini-fridge, safe and well-equipped bathroom. We unfortunately didn't see the Northern Lights from this property, but the view at night from your bed is still impressive. The food was great and the staff were very friendly. The glass heats very quickly and melts all snow/ice to improve your view.

We stayed in the glass igloos, not the most comfortable to be honest, sticky door, toilet valve problem making noise, broken hair dryer, heating going off over night. Does have a luxury feel but may need more checks.

The staff here were amazing and a big thank you for the santa search elves, a special family memory we will never forget! The buffet hall was good, plenty of options, free hot drinks, friendly staff, lots of options of things to do which can be a little costly but plenty of natural beauty and free things to do also. I'd like to see more free stuff for kids, sled hills? Kids food options. Overall NLV is an excellent stay, very professional, friendly and well managed so I would go back, this is not criticism but hopefully helps. A very pleasant place especially with kids, well equipped to help with extra layers, but stand out feature to us was the enthusiasm of the staff, always smiling and happy to help.

The glass igloo felt a bit warm and stuffy halfway into the night. One way to relief that is simply to open the front door for that artic cold fresh gust but we can't be doing that every 3 hours in the night.

The location is ideal for those who want a bit of exclusivity and privacy as it is across the road from the other buildings and ski resort in Saariselkä. They had plenty of glass igloos with a total of 80! The glass igloos were fantastic!! It wasn't big but it was very functional and had just the right space. We had a kid with us so they opened to sofa into an extra bed and we had 3 full sized luggage. Even then, we were able to comfortably open at least 2 luggage (cos we didn't need to open the third) and everyone still had space to walk around comfortably. The glass was equipped with laser heaters which melted the snow very easily. The staff were really friendly and engaged us everywhere we went. Even when we were just strolling near the reindeers farm, they readily chatted with us explaining the history and importance of reindeer to the Sami people. As the weather was too cold for us, we eventually snuck indoors at the main building and we were soon very busy having fun playing Shuffleboard until dinner was served. We had half board and a fabulous dinner with a amazing spread kept us full. Unfortunately we had transport arranged the next day at 7am but the staff obliged by helping us to pack breakfast bags for our next leg. The glass igloo were also all equipped with Aurora Alarm which did go off around 2330 Hrs and I probably caught the slightest glimpse of it from my phone camera in night mode. It was a very low level according to various websites.

What was disappointing was that the tablet communicating with the reception was uncomfortable because there were many errors. And I requested a room clean service for three days, but it has never been done properly. The room was never cleaned until he checked out. This is a very disappointing part.

It was generally good.It was nice to be able to do activities inside the resort, but it was nice to have all the facilities inside the resort. Also, it was so nice to be close to the city! It's an unforgettable place. It was the best trip to see the aurora.

The toilet could be better as there was a smell. We also find the glass window too bright during the day. Great if they can provide curtains all for the cabins.

We were on half board. Dinner was delicious! We love the dishes cooked by Jussi. He made superb Elk, turkey and berries pies. The aurora cabin was amazing with the window and forest view. Bed was really comfy. All the Staff scored A* for their great services. Reception staff were extremely patient and helpful with all our queries before arrival. They gave us great advice with the link to catch the public bus from Rovaniemi. Told us to alight at Holiday Club and also arranged for transport to pick us up from Holiday Club. They also gave us the best cabin no. 1 :) We signed up for the National Park hike and Aurora camps during our stay. Veeti was our guide for the hike. A young and handsome chap with good potential. He was patient and spoke very good English. Abraham was our passionate, knowledgeable and experienced guide for the Aurora camps. We saw the Northern lights and learnt a lot from him. We enjoyed his friendly company very much. We fully recommend Northern Light Village!
