Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaNot much - was delightful.
What a charming property. We felt so fortunate to have found this hotel. The staff and ownership are so caring; truly wanting their guests to have an extraordinary experience. They were super successful with us!! We loved it!! Also, the breakfast was delicious; their grounds exquisite. Such a peaceful and tranquil (and romantic) location. Far enough away from noise and yet 20 kilometers to Santiago de Compostela!

United KingdomAll good -there could have been a minibus for groups to collect and deliver every morning to the various Camino stages. Taxis were available but we had to wait sometimes. A mini bus with Pazo de Brandeso logo on it would be a useful addition.
The property was charming, unique and historical. Bathrooms were like in a luxury Scottish castle but bedrooms more comfortable. Food and staff superb. Even a private chapel - would definitely recommend to any groups or individuals doing the Camino de Santiago.

This was the last place I stayed on the Camino, I stayed at over 30 places while walking and this by far was my favorite. The staff makes you feel special and are so professional. The room was perfect and the bed and linens allowed me to get the best nights sleep, incredibly comfortable. The manor itself is worth a look. It is worth the 7 euro taxi ride from town.

United KingdomBreakfast time, 8:00 is too late. It should start from 7:00. Also, I have a preference for dinner a la carta rather than fixed menu
The feeling of staying at the family home of an important family in the history of Galicia. You actually meet the current owner. A special place that was selected by the most renouned writers of previous centuries.

United States of AmericaWe loved everything about Pazo de Brandeso
We loved everything about Pazo de Brandeso. This was our favorite place that we stayed at on the Camino. The building itself is amazing, dating back to 1620, with the original cornerstone of the building present as you walk in. The staff were all welcoming and and Mary was waiting for us at the door upon our arrival. We ate dinner as well as breakfast here. The owner, Juan, spent time conversing with us and sharing hunting stories with my brother during our stay. Juan even went out of his way to give us a ride back into Arzúa because the taxis were so busy the morning we left. We enjoyed spending time winding down in the 3 different salon rooms with amazing hunting trophies. The attention to detail was obvious throughout the whole building from the original cornerstone to the upholstered walls and leather furniture. I would recommend a stay at Pazo de Brandeso not only for Peligrinos but also for anyone traveling to Spain who is looking for an amazing place to stay.

United KingdomNot as 'romantic' as I would have hoped as hubby's bed and mine were actually two singles pushed together with a deep gap between them so snuggly cuddling was out of the question! I had definitely asked for a double bed, and I made the booking a good time ahead, not last minute. But it was not too much of an annoyance. The room was very beautiful and very quiet. We were asked if we wanted dinner when we checked in. We said yes and were shown a menu which was a good price, but the main course options were strange: a burger or the choice of scrambled eggs mixed with fish or another scrambled eggs dish, mixed with meat. I am British. My husband is American. Neither of us have EVER seen scrambled eggs offered as an evening meal before(??!) and didn't really feel it was a good menu (for international travellers it would be a good idea to re-think their menu: perhaps a vegetable soup starter and a vegetable pasta dish as a main, or similar?), and as I avoid meat and don't like fish, there really was not anything as a main course for me. So I managed, with the help of the nice lady at reception, to cobble together a vegetarian meal by putting one starter following another starter. Several aspects of our stay made us feel that they are watching the pennies at Pazo. One of them was the 'inexpensive to buy and cook' options for dinner, the other was that the heating (it was the end of October when we were there and pouring with rain and cold), came off and on and was actually not on after about 8pm. A neighbouring guest asked the server about what we were also finding - the room is fairly cold and there is no way to heat it. I went to plug my hot towel rail in at least to give some heat to the room, unfortunately it had been installed in such a way so that the plug dangled down and was no where near a socket: it's cosmetic, and not actually usable. We were told 'the heating will be on again in the morning before you wake up!
Neither my husband nor I have stayed before at what is best described as a privately-owned stately home. It is something you would expect a count or a baron to have as his 'weekend property'. It was quite an experience being there! If you are an animal lover you must do your best on arrival to suspend your sadness and sympathy for the countless safari animal heads and hides that adorn the walls and instead concentrate on the antiquity and the sheer extraordinary fascination of it all because Pazo de Brandeso is a time-capsule of yesteryear, still owned and used by the original family, which I think is tremendous. From the very start the staff were delightful and did all they could to make us comfortable and welcome. I kept thinking what an amazing place this would be for a murder mystery dinner night or a Halloween party! Although the room I'd asked for weeks before was not available as it had already been booked, they put us into a comfortable and huge room. All the furniture and the decor has been chosen with care and was very well suited to the architecture and vibe of this impressive place. Everything was very clean, the room was beautiful and quiet. Beds were made up with fine linen and the toiletries in the bathroom were lovely.
