Very noisy, I was situated on the corridor where the bags were kept for those arriving early or leaving later, but also the staff room was next door, walls were paper thin and I could hear very clearly everything outside of the room whether conversation or opening of cupboards etc. Having to guess how to enter the building on my arrival wasn't great, but it wasn't difficult using common sense, however...not everyone does! Might be worth messaging people before they arrive on how to enter the building if the front door is locked.

There is a lot to like about this property. The staff were very friendly. My room ended up being a double room so very spacious, good size bathroom, good shower too. The location & price I think was excellent, literally strides away from Gran Via, minutes away from Sol Square, minutes away from several different metro lines. Very secure, even if old fashioned system of entry. Room was spotless and cleaned daily which was appreciated. Bed very comfy.

The description wasn't totally accurate, the room was up one flight of stairs not on ground floor and there was no tv or phone in the room. Non of this mattered for me so I had no reason to complain.

The location is just a few ninutes from Grand Vie, turn left on exit of pension (Primark is very near ha ha), and right a few steps from theatres The building is very secure. Sometimes, during the day, you need a code to enter, and the receptionist electronically opens the door. The pension is located on the first floor with a lift from the ground a must if you have mobility problems I booked a single bedroom and had a double bed exceptionally clean with toiletries, quality towels, and fast internet No kettle, lots of cafes in the vicinity The owners communication excellent

Not that it was a problem or anything, this is just a detail that could maybe help someone prepare if it makes a difference to them - there was no hairdryer, at least in the solo room, but I read that beforehand so I had brought my own. Didn't even always use it, it was warm in the room as I said.

I was there in November and the room was well heated, the bed was comfortable, everything was spotlessly clean and comfy. The location is amazing, right next to Gran Via, so I felt safe as a solo traveller, there were people all around. Also, metro just a minute away, well connected, just 20 min from the museums, Retiro park and even closer to the plaza Mayor. I walked everywhere, the location was just perfect. Last but not least, everyone at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if I ever go back to Madrid, it's great value for money.

The staff at the front desk was adequate but not effusive. (I have been spoiled in the past when I stayed at other small hotels with extremely friendly and outgoing staff at the reception; the two men that I met here were completely adequate but didn't go above and beyond.) Honestly, if that's the worst I can come up with, it's not bad. But an occasional smile would have been appreciated. The other issue was WiFi: I had a room at the end of the hall and had trouble logging on, had to go to the lobby to get online. One of the desk guys told me later they had to reset the router at one point in the afternoon and maybe that's when I was trying to go online.

Central location, just a block of the Gran Via, but tucked onto a quiet side street. Elevator up to the first floor, secure key code to enter the building, and fully staffed front desk 24-hours. Very helpful ordering a taxi for me to get to the airport and provided info on where to find an early morning open cafe for breakfast in the area. Clean; my single room had enough space to move around and repack my bags. Nice hot water in the shower.

I was not informed at the check in that I would have to leave the key there every time I wanted to go out. I’m not opposed to doing that, because I understand the reasoning behind, but this sort of information should be shared as soon as possible - preferably somewhere on the add, just so people can decide by themselves whether or not this is a dealbreaker. Though, this event did not impact my overall satisfaction.

Very clean and tidy place! Comfortable single beds in the bedroom. The building has an elevator, which is great, because I stayed there with my grandmother - who would have troubles going up the stairs - and it certainly helped us with the luggages. I highly recommend it!
