Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

AustriaI absolutely loved it there! The location, the vibe, the family-style dinners, sleeping with the ocean right next door... It was like in a fairy tale with a view of Anaga forest on one side and the ocean on the other. Ollie & the rest of the crowd really make an effort to make it a special experience for everyone.

United KingdomI had an incredible experience at this hostel. The owner, Ollie, is genuinely dedicated to creating a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere, and his efforts are evident in every aspect of the place. The beds are exceptionally comfortable, the overall vibe is fantastic, and the location is unbeatable. As a solo traveler, I felt completely at ease and had the opportunity to meet some fascinating and friendly people. In my opinion, this is a must-stay for anyone visiting Tenerife. I’ll definitely be back when returning to Tenerife.

RomaniaCasanaga is the perfect place to immerse yourself in nature. The location of this cosy house is just unreal. You have the mountains, the beaches, the silence. You can hear the ocean while sleeping and the terrace offers the best views while you enjoy their breakfast or stargazing at night. I’ve met beautiful people, had delicious dinners made by their chef, fun activities with the team and overall it felt like home. If you want to discover the north part of the island in a less touristy way, Casanaga is the best choice.

GermanyHad a wonderful stay at Casanaga. It's located in a very calm little village. The location is perfect for hiking or just relaxing at the beach nearby. The hostel has a very chill vibe. Ollie the volunteers make it feel like home right away and I wished I could have stayed longer. Let me tell you that the place is worth a visit for the view from the terrace alone. Thanks 🙏 I hope to be back soon.

AustriaWhat a special place! Good location near beach. Kitchen good quipped, drinking water filter, nice terrace and second livingroom, community life with more or less open doors, workshops , daily offers for activies and personal welcome makes a homeful feeling. breakfast stunning, optional dinner extra available. Lots of passion and love by the people who run the place. Be aware of the rural and remote area you are in . It is a quiet village - for those of you who expect lots of shops etc. ;) I loved it to be so remote for that time. A place to be 💗

ItalyThe location is amazing: perfect spot for surfing or relaxing on the beach and for going hiking. It’s home away from home: Ollie created an incredible place, we shared dinners, jam sessions and lots of different activities every day. Special mention to the team of volunteers: thanks guys for making my stay so special and fun, you are the best! Definitely recommended. I’ll be back one day for sure 🫶🏻

United States of AmericaNo real complaints. The only things I could actually mention are pretty unique to my preferences and plusses for most people. Such as the beds which were sturdy clean and nice were actually too soft and comfy. If you drive parking can be tough but that is just because it's a cute authentic town that is not built for tourism. It is also not easy to find when walking but that is part of the charm, making it special. The hostel itself is new and growing so that comes with it's mini challenges or growing pains but they are small as well as not worth mentioning in detail because they will be sure to fix them soon. Overall vast majority positive.
Super spot. First of all the area is quite magnificent and the beaches nearby are first rate. The view from the terrace is inspirational and the guests and volunteers quickly become family. It is very clean and comfortable. Not only quiet and peaceful but you can even hear the ocean from the sleeping quarters. There are many beautiful hikes nearby and surfing lessons available also. They do a great dinner every night and full breakfast every day. If you go to the area for an escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life, definitely stay there and give it a try. Thank you casanaga crew

United KingdomNo complaints!
My stay in Casanaga was one of the nicest hostel experinces I have had. Its in an amazing location just above the beach in the tiny village of Almáciga; from where you can spend the days hiking, swimming & surfing. The hostel itself is really welcoming and all of the volunteers go to a lot of effort to make sure you're really well looked after, they were all lovely people to cross paths with for a few days. Breakfast and dinner are overlooking the ocean and you share the meal with the other guests in the hostel. Generally the vibe is very calm and peaceful and its a lovely place to escape to. The surrounding scenery is stunning, I would recommend hiring a car as its fairly remote.

Everything! Could get a good sleep with having a comfortable mattress and sounds of the ocean. Great location with 15 mins walk to the beach. Absolutely beautiful view! A lot of fun and plans organised by the host for guests. Ollie was very helpful from the moment I booked the place, giving info on how to get there without a car and any other questions that I had.

LithuaniaWhat a place! Super friendly and welcoming atmosphere. Perfect place for solo travellers if you’d like to hang out with people for a bit (if not, you can easily find a quiet place). Breakfast and dinners were amazing. The location is perfect, you can walk down to the beach in few minutes. The views from the hostel are crazy. The hostel is full of entertainment if you’re looking for some. I can’t express how perfect that place is, one of the best hostels I’ve been to and definitely a special one!

FranceHonestly nothing.
Honestly the best hostel I went to (and I went to many)! The location is so peaceful and authentic, close to many hiking spots and also to the beach (that is just down the road). I ended up extending my stay for 2 more nights! The volunteers make you feel at home. It's a quiet and peaceful hostel. The beds are so comfy with a sea view and the sound of waves crashing. The casita shared space has a balcony with a sea view: so relaaaxing! Also, the terrace is so nice and getting breakfast (at 9am) there was incredible. You can also get a shared dinner which really makes you feel like sharing it with friends/family. If you need, you can make laundry for 5€. The place is deserved by a regular bus (but careful as the last one from Santa Cruz is at 7:35pm). I will miss this place but will come back for sure!

FranceNot many guests using Kitchen facilities, also not fully functional so most people do the hostel dinner. Super good food but a bit expensive for budget travelers
Great stay at Casanaga, the team is super welcoming and makes sure you have a great time. Lots of activities organized to keep busy and meet other travelers, i Felt part of the family straight away! Also the Location is amazing, with views on the cliffs and beach just nearby. If you come by bus it is a bit more difficult to get around but still possible walking/ busing. I loved my stay and met incredible people there, thanks again Ollie. 3 nights turned into a few more!
