Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):

Communication with host is easy and quick. The flat provides most of the things we needed during our stay. The location is not central but is quite and handy. For us that was good enough.

The location was superb - metro station was just round the corner and we could pick up the City Tour bus a few minutes walk away.. Facilities in the property were good - the shower was superb.

Loved the spacious livingroom in the apartment. Overall, there wasn't anything that we wanted and did not have as the host arranged for everything. There were fans in all the rooms, a/c unit in the livingroom, washing machine available, extra blankets, a cozy couch and a small tv. I enjoyed the heavy lattices on the windows as we could sleep in without a problem.

United States of AmericaOne night was really windy and it was hard to sleep with some things banging around outside, but I’m guessing it was things belonging to the neighbor(s). Everything else was just great.
The location was amazing, one block from the Sagrada Familia. That was our favorite place in Barcelona so it was amazing to walk by it multiple times, as well as visit it once.

This accommodation was very clean, quiet but with good access to the center. We really didn’t miss anything. The owner was kind and helpful. In addition, the accomodation is well accessible from the airport by metro.

United States of AmericaBeds were not very comfortable. Double mattress was hard, and twin mattresses were (I think) foam. This was our biggest complaint. Bathroom smelled a bit bad, as though there might be a bad drain trap. Hot water only seemed to work when the heat was turned on. This was not a problem after we figured it out. Apartment is a bit dated and starting to show its age.
Excellent, excellent location. We walked almost everywhere, and used the nearby metro some times. Thoroughly cleaned. Coffee and tea available along with a two sizes of bialetti. Great communication with the owner. He allowed us to arrive 1 hr early, and was responsive when there was a water problem in the neighborhood that affected the apartment. Washing machine with detergent, and drying lines. Felt safe, and no noise issues. Heat worked great when we used it at night. All amenities as expected.

AustraliaThe accommodation is very basic, with several kitchen items missing, making a meal very difficult to prepare. Simple items like no cutting board and the gas stove had only one burner which worked properly. The old air-conditioner was very noisy and the constant banging of the courtyard entrance door made it difficult to sleep at night.
The location was very good, a three minute walk to Sagrada Familia and the train station.
