More information about local services such as groceries, places to eat etc would have helped although the owner did email recommended restaurants and a useful website for planning our sightseeing.

Location was both peaceful and ideal for exploring Galicia. The apartment is quirky and pretty well equipped. The hosts were very approachable and easy to communicate with and keen to ensure any problems or questions are dealt with quickly.

    The weather!!

We loved the warm welcome from Carlos and his wife, they were super helpful hosts making suggestions for days out and where to eat in the evening. We also loved the country setting outside Santiago de Compostela. Our room was very restful and the garden an absolute gem of rustic charm. Unfortunately, the weather didn't allow us to swim in their pool, next time perhaps! Breakfast was served in the light and airy dining room, plenty of everything you could need from the buffet with fresh orange juice and lovely hot coffee. We had dinner there on two nights, specially prepared for us as vegetarians/fish eaters, both meals absolutely delicious! We stayed four nights and visited Padron for the Sunday market (quite an experience!), walk afterwards at a local nature reserve near the river, spent another day out in Santiago de Compostela walking in the little historic streets and a third day out to the Costa da Morte, all of it a very fascinating Galician adventure. Excellent value for money, Casa Grande de Cornide is so well placed for a few days experiencing the best of Galicia, a gentle and peaceful rural retreat and we would love to visit another time.

The house is 2km from the main road, the camino and restaurants but Carlos gave us a lift and taxis are easy to get. The peace and quiet is worth the 2 km walk. Also dinner is served at the house each evening except Sundays.

The house is a beautiful old stone building set in rolling green countryside. Carlos and Tania were very friendly and so helpful. The breakfast was made from local foods - cheeses, bread, hams, marmalades, fruit and lots more. It was lovely and relaxing to sit in the garden and listen to the birdsong.

Would have liked a coffee machine or hot water heater in room. However, it's possible to order what you want at any time.

Beautiful villa in the country! Unfortunately, I was there in poor weather, but the grounds and pool are gorgeous. The lovely couple who run it couldn't be nicer and more helpful. Dinner and breakfast were top- notch. A special place with lots of character.

This small family-run resort is housed in buildings dating from the 1700s; a stay here is unlike anything you will experience elsewhere. The pool is refreshing (as is the bathtub for Camino walkers), and the food is excellent. The rooms are traditionally decorated; the bed, super comfy (great pillows). The art collection is an extra treat. Gracias, Carlos for being such an excellent host!

it’s off the main Camino Way so we had an uphill walk to it. We probably didn’t take the easiest route up so it was a hard few kilometers but everything was worth the effort.

Fabulous hosts Tania and Carlos, and their beautiful baby daughter. House is beautiful- a very welcome oasis of peace and tranquility. Food was simple but delicious and homemade.

There was no air con and no servicing of the house. We were cooking for a family of 4 so the tiny bin would have needed to be emptied to prevent ants. The pool needed better cleaning and there was dog poo all over the garden.

The farmhouse setting was beautiful. When we asked for a fan and more towels they came out within a few hours to us.

The room was too small and the walls too thin. I could not enjoy breakfast and they packed me a very sad sandwich. Wifi signal didn't reach the room, there were ant traps in hidden on the bedroom's floor which were dangerous for my 2 years old son. The swimming pool is very nice but needs maintenance

The only complain was a really poor wine at dinner and then learning it was not included in the dinner price. Hate paying for bad wine almost as much as drinking it.

This is a beautiful older property located about 3 km from the Camino Portugues. It's roomy and comfortable. Our room overlooked the pool and entry area. They have a restaurant on site which serves local style food. It was very good. The wine was not up to the standards for the place or the meal. This property is not near anything else, so perigrinos have to plan ahead or eat in their restaurant which adds a good bit to the total. Run by a nice young family with a very young baby. These are the kinds of people we like to encourage.

Ok… sorry to say, but the stairs in the apartment are a little dangerous.. older people might struggle and kids have to be super careful.. they are narrow winding staircase made of metal.. and you have to go up and down to use the toilet… Also very sorry but to be honest. We hardly slept because a neighbouring house has a dog that barked all night long.. we left exhausted. The dog just barked all night.. was a nightmare!! Which is a shame as the property is so nice, but all I can think of is the 4 of us awake all night😩

The pool and garden area is lovely and very relaxing.. the host couple very friendly and helpful.. it’s a beautiful spot.. nice location and a lovely stay for my young family.. the apartment was clean and nice
