Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SpainIn the room I booked you can hear everything in the kitchen and bathroom, so it’s impossible to sleep past the first person who wakes up.
Clean home with ample lounge space.

Steps from the Camino. Beautiful garden with swimming pool. Very clean. Exceptional kitchen, and wonderful breakfast included with reservation. The fridge was even full of oranges to make fresh squeezed OJ: wow!! Multiple options to purchase for a nominal fee to make a healthy dinner. Bathrooms were well supplied. Bedrooms were not crowded, and linens were excellent. Roberto, the host, was delightful. If we come this way again, will definitely stay here!!

EcuadorThis albergue is well designed for peregrinos. The host has a well-stocked refrigerator of food to buy so we didn't have to search for restaurants after a day of hiking.

United States of AmericaAbsolutely nothing.
Camino da Viera is an excellent property in every way, and the owner, Roberto, went out of his way to make our stay memorable. We had eight total Camino pilgrims in our group, all of whom were ery impressed by the alburgue. Starting with a smooth check in process, with presassigned beds, to a great breakfast the next morning. Camino da Viera was squeaky clean, with all of the beds having sheets, pillowcase, blanket, and a real towel, all of which are really appreciated by pilgrims, and of course other guests as well. There were plenty of toilets and showers for everybody and lots of nice areas in which to sit and read or have conversations. Camino da Viera is not close to many serivices, but Roberto stocks a large number of meal options at reasonable prices, and shares the kitchen with guests. The bed charge includes an excellent breakfast the next morning. When I had a medical emergency in the evening, Roberto took me to the hospital in Santiago de Compostela, waiting for me, an brought me back, about a to hour process. He assured me this was all part of his job in making our pilgrim stay very nice and relaxing.

United KingdomFairly close to a busy road, but set back so noise wasn’t too bad. Fine if your room faces the garden.
We had a private room in this really nice hostel. It is just a couple of hundred metres off the Camino, set back from a fairly busy road. It was raining, so sadly we could not make use of the garden which looked fabulous. Instead we made use of the communal areas, drinking beer and sharing food with the other residents. A really enjoyable experience. Our room was clean and the bed comfortable. The washrooms were also clean. The fridge was well stocked with food we could purchase. A basic breakfast was also included in the cost. Would highly recommend

South AfricaIt was not possible to get a private bathroom, but in the end the shared bathroom worked out well with every-one keeping it tidy.
Room was very comfortable and spacious and no need to go out to get food as the self-help kitchen was well stock with food and drinks. The area was very nice a quiet and not far off the Portuguese Camino route

CanadaA little way off the Camino. Sign to hostel could be replaced. Right on the main road. Pool is not heated. Could post directions on how to use the washing machine. The lady ahead of me selected one cycle that locked the door for over an hour after washing.
Nice house with mixed shared dorm. Nice to have food and beverages to purchase and cook. Many common areas to spread out and enjoy.

GermanyThe instructions to get there could have been a bit more clear. Another pilgrim walked for 1.5 hours along the very busy highway. In order to get to the house, the highway needs to be crossed, which can be a bit nerve-wracking.

United States of AmericaThe location has a few issues- it is a little off the Camino, which isn’t a big deal, but it is right on the highway, so there is ample noise (window was open to try to cool down the room). There is a decent restaurant nearby, but it doesn’t serve dinner until 9:30, so food availability can be an issue if you’ve had a long day and want to get up early to reach Santiago.
It’s a lovely property and house
