Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomIt's hard to find a fault tbh but if anything, the lifts only went to the 5th floor and the 6th floor was only accessible by stairs.
The staff were amazing, Vanessa at the reception was particularly exceptional, the food was great and tasty, especially the al fresco restaurant, no idea where the people who gave this hotel a bad review stayed but it definitely wasn't the medplaya salou. If you do go to this hotel I recommend you ask for room 606 as the balcony is huge and you get 2 sun loungers for your private sun bathing.

United KingdomWe like eating in the al-fresco area for breakfast but wish it had more variety like what to restaurant offers. Better entertainment on an evening.
We have been coming to the Calypso for 9 years & everytime we have a great holiday. It has everything we need. Close to the shops, restaurants & 15 minutes to the beach. We go AI & never had a problem with food, always found something to eat & lovely cocktails. Staff are great, treat them with the kindness & respect you would like in return & they can't do enough for you. They work hard!

IrelandThe entertainment is not good. We stayed all inclusive a few times in different places and we always enjoyed different entertainment every night for both kids and adults but there was only one good night with music. No whiskey free with all inclusive.
We enjoyed our stay. The food was always beautiful for every meal. We stayed all inclusive and there was a room stocked with snacks all day. There is a Al fresco restaurant that you can get some free meals with all inclusive from 12-18:00, the burgers are definitely worth trying. My 2 year old loved the play ground and it was right next to the kids pool with a sun lounger area between the both areas that always had available loungers.

IrelandThere are defo nicer places nearby. The surrounding areas by the pool are too small. I think they need to open up the entertainment area to allow for more loungers during the day. The chef in the outdoor snack area is VERY rude.
It was okay but not worth €1600 for 1 person for 1 week. The place was spotless and the staff are excellent for the most part. There is a late bar which is child friendly. This is great if you don’t want to leave the hotel. Every night has a different type of entertainment and it is brilliant and engaging for all. They speak multiple languages during the shows too.

United KingdomPool areas got very busy so might be tricky to get decent loungers. There was also only one lift which got annyoing when we were on the 5th floor.
Interior is very modern looking and the staff were extremely friendly on the reception desk. Rooms are a bit small with a sofa bed for kids but decent shower and lots of storage space. We were on the top floor overlooking the main road but it was quiet. Pools were small and busy but one of them had a very deep area (2.4m) which was great for the kids diving down in. The buffet was great, lots to choose from and never seemed too busy. There was a bus stop up the road for getting a coach to Barcelona airport.

IrelandAfter reading bad reviews this hotel didn't have anything to complain about .
Great hotel clean hotel comfortable big and busy. Food for everyone even our fussy eaters had plenty to pick at. The lunch bar on the terrace had great burgers and hot dogs yummy. There's two pool the one at the back great for kids. Vending machines through out the building. Rooms cleaned everyday and fresh towels great cleaners friendly staff. I've been to many resorts this was by the best quite at night . Bars restarted kids play zones just out the door and take a left . Would I stay again 100%.

GermanyDespite the hotel being advertised as family-friendly, it was difficult to escape the smokers. There was no smoke-free area around the pool loungers, nor at the tables near the stage, and one woman even smoked in the children's pool. If you are a non-smoker and don't want your child exposed to smoke, it will be challenging to find a smoke-free spot. By 9:00 AM, all loungers were occupied with towels, despite hotel rules against this, but it seemed to be largely ignored.
The hotel is quite modern with clean and pleasant rooms. Housekeeping was done daily, keeping everything spotless. The food was varied and delicious, catering to different tastes. There were plenty of engaging activities for kids every day, which kept them entertained. Additionally, the staff was friendly and always ready to assist, making our stay even more enjoyable.

SpainBeing on the 5th floor with mobility problems was a little worrying, if there had been an emergency vacuation with the lifts out of action I would never have made it down the many stairs. I was told when checking in that we could use the ALFRESCO restaurant as well as the main restaurant, as it was included in our tariff. However once seated were told of the supplement of €10. We decided to stay and pay, however we had been misinformed. As above it was worth paying the extra I would just like to have been given the correct information.
Spacious exceptionally clean rooms with a comfortable bed which had good cotton sheets on it. Air con worked well particularly needed with temps 30 degrees plus. Nice view over the main hotel building swimming pool. Room located by a lift as requested due to my mobility problems. Enjoyed the ALFRESCO restaurant for a pleasant change from the busy buffet for the evening meal. It was worth paying the very reasonable price of €10 to upgrade to this from half board for one night.

United KingdomWe travelled in May half term so hotel was quiet around this time and had a lot of Spanish people staying (which was fine for us). I have read lots of not great review's about this hotel, however we had a lovely stay. Food was ok and always found something to eat.

United KingdomLocation is slightly further out but not the end of the world. People are taking up sun beds around the pool and then heading out for the day, which is super annoying, and I don't think they should be aloud as its unfair to other people.
Super lovely staff! 2 big pools! Lovely food! Nice restaurant! Super comfy beds! Big bathroom! Quieter side of salou! Entertainment for kids on a night! Super clean! Second time going, and I will definitely go back again!! :)
