Ts not that I didn’t like it or there is anything the staff can do but I think people would like to know and understand. Building is very old (which we loved) but that comes with issues of steep stairs (there is a small elevator). Smaller rooms but we didn’t come to stay in the room. As it’s in the old part of a very old town it is almost inaccessible by vehicle and parking is offsite at a cost. But I believe this is the state for any hotel on the island.

The place is great. Very helpful staff. Outstanding food both for breakfast and dinner! The rooms are a bit small (we knew this in advance) but we’ll definitely be there next time. Great atmosphere, in the old town environment.

What a gem! Beautiful old hotel in the perfect spot for exploring the town and lake. Warm welcome, very stylish room and communal areas. In-house restaurant with delicious food & wine. Very good breakfast too. Would highly recommend this hotel & would definitely make a return visit.

Beautiful hotel in the perfect location! The breakfast was delicious and they had a table set up for us every morning which was delightful. We ate at the restaurant for lunch as well and it was superb- highly recommend. We could easily walk around the island from the hotel. Would definitely stay again.

bathroom extract-fan goes on for too long after using bathroom! slight confusion with breakfast service; the idea to pre-order the evening before is good as it reduces unnecessary waste, however we didn't receive exacttly what we pre-ordered

Remember to book the next day's breakfast before 2000hrs to ensure it is prepared for the next day. Not really the Hotel's fault I suppose: We had the windows open at night to cool the room, the noise from guests sitting outside the hotel 2 doors down kept us awake each night until 0200 and then because you are in Germany there were the church bells every 15 minutes.

We had a three night stay. The hotel was in the middle of the island, a 5 minute walk to the harbour. Room was large enough for 2 of us, clean and located on the front of the hotel above the breakfast room. Large bathroom with a great shower.

Room is a small, but understandable by the hotel location - center of the city, it is in an old building (but well maintained)..

Great staff and great place to stay while in Lindau. Accessible price with great breakfast. Shower was great, as the restaurant tha has the same name of the hotel. If one day I should return to Lindau Insel, would stay again in Engel!

Stayed before and is still as good. Historic building in old town centre about 5 minutes walk from Insel station and boat pier/ harbour. Full of character converted upper floors with modern clean rooms and preserved cosy lower breakfast/restaurant rooms. Very welcoming family run establishment, welcome drink and made sure we could get a table for evening meal. Very good food and substantial breakfast ( preordered )

Room was listed as a mini, and although small it was functional. View from window was of the fire escape so that was almost like an interior room.
