Good amenities all close by. Food in the buffet restaurant was good. The Japanese only offered sushi which was subpar. The steakhouse was decent and worth the visit.

It was right on a black sand beach, which I have always wanted to see(black sand). The food in the buffet was really good, the staff were very nice and friendly, and resort is in a very quiet relaxation environment; the countrysideof Costa Rica. The grounds were well kept. Location is five and half hours from the airport. You have to take a two and half hours car service to a ferry. (Shot out to shuttle driver Felix for making this part of our transfer fun. He talked about the the different towns as we drove. Being hungry after our flight and wanting to try some local ethic foods, he stopped at a mom & pop spot, which was really good.) The ferry ride was one and a half hours. Then another shuttle for 30 minutes from the ferry to the resorts. I don't think this was 57 miles. I was very disappointed that the location was so far from the airport. The food service ends at 10PM every day so if you party until 3am(the time the disco ends) you will be hungry until breakfast at 7AM. Bathrooms need to be renovated (mold on shower walls and tub and sink were clogged). Lightning in the room sucks. The rooms lighting were very dim. The iguanas were very plentiful and were not afraid of humans(scary).

Understaffed and worn out, the hotel recommended a taxi company which ripped us off, items in the shop were very expensive too, quite a long line of people to get food

We didn’t have umbrellas on the beach and the food quality could be better. There where several flies on the buffet.

If you don't speak Spanish this resort is not the best for English speaking people as most staff cannot speak any English and the shows at night are always in Spanish so not very good The tours offered by the hotel are not through the better companies and I would urge their management to take the tours of all the companies around and either force their tour operators to offer something better or switch companies

Talking to the staff was a bit of a challenge, as I often felt I would get slightly new or different information depending on who I asked. The dining system was also confusing because it wasn't clear to what extent you were to be served and when to serve yourself. I believe they need more staff available in this section to keep up with the demand because tables often weren't ready to sit down and eat, and I would have to often ask for silverware to be brought to me (maybe wrap them in the napkins and put them by the plates instead?). I would also recommend fixing the holes in the netting surrounding the dining area because there are certain holes that iguanas and raccoons have frequently come in through that don't make for the best experience while eating. Not really a negative, but just a recommendation for English-speaking travelers to brush up on hotel and restaurant-related Spanish vocabulary before going!

This resort was a humongous, beautiful tropical oasis in the midst of dry season. You could see they worked hard to maintain the property. I liked the proximity of my room to the beach. There was an abundance of food options throughout the day, and so many activities to keep you entertained, whether it was a little dance class or a walk through their bird and butterfly sanctuaries and horse stables. I was impressed with the quality of the evening show and the dancers who gave their all with different routines each night and the sound team that was on point with the lighting, and comical use of sound effects. And the live music band was top notch! The resort covers such a large portion of the beach so that it feels private, even through its actually a public beach. I'm learning Spanish, and even the more adept English-speaking staff accommodated my desire to practice, which was nice! Overall, it was a very positive experience!

tvs in the room was small, phones weren’t working/connected nor were they replaced so we had no way to contact front desk or housekeeping, coffee machine was broken, sliding door in the room was so difficult to open almost through my back out… thin walls and doors… we could hear everything inside the rooms we walked by and I’m sure they ours..

location and spacing was amazing… beach was right there… wildlife lived and roamed freely

Having to order premium drinks only in the private lounge was a hassle, and took quite a while. The area to hang out was pretty small - the pools were all connected and people put their things on the loungers early in the morning and camped out for the day. The food was okay but nothing special - seemed like a lot of the popular dishes weren’t getting refilled often.

we took the premium package for three nights. It was a better choice - less waiting and a private lounge with food and drinks. The rooms were comfortable and quiet, and the gym and butterfly sanctuary were cool.

Bathrooms in the bedroom are a little outdated Only one A la Carte Restaurant was open. Not enough for a 5* start All-inclusive Resort. Shows/entertainment were not very good, at least from Monday to Thursday. Only a couple of people not very funny making bad jokes. Laundry prices too high. Not body Lotion provided. Activities can be enjoyable until 5pm at least in July. Sand wasn't as I expected, little rocky and no Wi-Fi available in the beach, which was great to read my book.

Food was great specially Spanish and French theme night in their buffet restaurant. Guillermo, one of the managers made us feel great! Amazing customer service. Gym was clean and well equipped. Pools are beautiful, lots of choices. Plenty of activities to enjoy, mini-golf, beach volley, football, ping-pong, billboard etc... from 9-5pm Kids have great entertainment too. Rooms are very clean and comfortable mattresses. Gardens are amazing! Very pleasant. Beach is nice and private.

Lines to get a beer or cocktail were a little long. And parking is a little bit of a walk but not too bad.
