Beautifully decorated room and nice bathroom. Small but had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and they started serving early, which saved us for a couple of our early morning adventures. They also had lockers that fit our very large luggage and miscellaneous belongings and they let us leave them there the whole next day after we checked out.

I loved everything about Rivera Del Rio! Beautiful views, excellent staff (special shoutout to Jesus and Carolina), the room and hotel were just breathtaking. We felt very safe and welcomed by the surrounding locals! Walking distance to so many things - including the beach.

Good area, good concept of a historical hotel, but experience was ruined primarily by mosquitos and secondarily noise, water issues, and a multitude of small issues.

Biggest problem: mosquitos There were many mosquitoes in the room. Their quantity wasn’t affected by the closed doors and windows. There was ample space around the window frames (see picture) - enough to put a finger through and definitely enough for any insects, though there were likely other openings like the fireplace chimney. Definitely no screens on anything. After the first night we woke up with multiple red dots all over from the mosquito bites. After this, we were careful to not leave the door open for more than 2 seconds - just long enough to jump in, and keep the lights low before going to bed. Still, woke up from buzzing mosquitoes, couldn't sleep, turned on the light, killed 50 mosquitoes, stopped counting, fell asleep exhausted an hour later at 4 am. Next day bought mosquitoe repellent at a pharmacy, sprayed ourselves head to toe before bed, briefly considered whether the smell was worse than the bites, decided in favor of smell. Since then, it was our nightly routine: bath in mosquito repellent and put in earplugs. We found out that mosquitoes will bite on the lips and eyelids leaving red dots as evidence. It's also possible to have 12 bites on a spot the size of a coin if mosquitoes decide that not enough repellent is applied there. Noise: The room was located in a historical building on the upstairs level (there are only two levels). The doors are also windows, and they come out to a mezzanine balcony surrounding the inner courtyard - all of this is common space with regular foot traffic. The inner courtyard is a restaurant. It has the regular visitors and at times hosts events. During our stay, we had a wedding reception with a DJ and loud music until approximately midnight. Even though our room did not face this space directly (other rooms did), the sound level with the doors and shutters closed was approximately the same as being on a dance floor.

The interior design of the room is superb! We enjoyed the centric location and the shared spaces are incredible. Also the staff was pretty kind and helpful.

Clean rooms. Excellent and friendly staff. The location was perfect. Pool and parking. All pluses.

Unable to charge meals to your room at the restaurant. The pool has no space to lounge, and they only offer three tables with six chairs. The pool area was always crowded, leading to people having to sit on the ground.

The Jr. Suite was old and smelled when you have had a room closed up for a Long time and tje bed was really hard. The AC didn't let us sleep at night because it started making a loud noise
