This place was way nicer than we expected! Quite possibly the most aesthetically pleasing place in Drake Bay. Our room was very spacious and comfortable, too. And it included a mini fridge, with cups chilling in the freezer! The hotel helped us book a tour, last minute, in Corcovado National Park, that we really enjoyed. And they served us a poolside beverage, even though the restaurant wasn't technically open yet. There are a handful of restaurants close by and even a grocery store/market, too. There was a free coffee/tea station at the hotel, which was perfect for our early mornings! That was such a thoughtful touch, given the boat times and the tour times. We really enjoyed our stay here!

This place is amazing! It exceeded all our expectations. The views are incredible. The included breakfast was delicious. We also didn't realize how close it is to the National Park- a couple minutes walking and you're there! The beach is maybe a ten minute walk away. We saw a whole bunch of monkeys walking back from the beach one day. And one monkey entertained us while we were in the pool! It climbed all over the building and made a few other appearances during our stay. We saw lots of wildlife here! Our room was spacious and comfortable- we actually had the whole top floor to ourselves (the perks of travelling in off-season, I guess). We would definitely stay here again.

We felt at home from the moment we arrived! They even put my name on a little welcome sign. We were travelling with family (including kids) and the space was perfect for that. And being so close to the beach was amazing, especially it being a unique one! The views were incredible- the property itself is beautiful; we loved sitting outside and taking it all in. I walked into town to meet the family one morning and it was a surprisingly short walk along the beach into town! The hosts were super communicative and helped us with additional requests. They really went above and beyond! Check-in/out was super smooth. The doors/gates were easy to use. We were very happy here!

The place was very clean- probably one of the cleanest stays we've had in Costa Rica. We just stopped in for 1 night on our way down the coast. It was perfect for a quick stop-over. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked very nice! The beach is close by but it is a National Park so you can't just walk in. Check in was very smooth but no one was there when we were trying to check out.

The hotel was around a lot of trees where many birds live. The mornings are so nice with many birds chirping. The hotel gave us a hotel at the corner of the second floor and we had a nice secluded place. The breakfast was nice. The lady who prepares the breakfast from 5 AM is also nice. She prepares for everyone freshly cut fruits and other items. Arenal volcano is visible from the balcony.

The hotel seems overpriced. Even considering La Fortuna is expensive, this hotel is pricey. The hotel is pretty far from the city center. It is 1.4 km from the hotel to the central park and the Mega supermarket. There was a bridge being built and the hotel was accessible through the neighboring hotel. However, there was a gate through which the Campos Arenal was accessible. However, the gate was opened at 8 AM every day. If you need to leave before 8 AM you need go through a much longer way to access the city center.

Nice breakfast and lovely staff. Jennifer (J-Lo), the local agouti was fun to see each morning! Nice to sleep with the windows open and hear all the local bird sounds.

We were disappointed that the bathrooms sinks did not have any hot water and we were told none of the cabins did. They only had cold water and no hot water hooked up to those faucets. The hot water in the shower was fine but only cold water in the sink. Rooms smelled like mildew as we were there in June during the rainy season. No AC so the mildew smell was prevalent. Staff did not speak much English which would be difficult for those that do not speak any Spanish. Bed pillows were not that soft.

Negative section of review
(1) Everytime we entered from outside, we saw cockroaches. My kids were so scared that they did not want to set foot on the ground. To cap it all, a flying cockroach landed on me in the middle of the night. (2) Finding the light switch was so difficult. It was hidden behind a plant and we spent 10 minutes in the evening to finally find the light switch.
