The impressive historic building is well taken care of. Our room with a view and balcony was in excellent condition, and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed a small but thorough selection of the complimentary mini-bar. We were pleasantly surprised with how the old-looking window isolates outside noise well. The reception team was very tentative, and the barman was superb. After enjoying the evening concert at KKL, the late-night snacks and choices of cocktail selection easily exceeded our expectations. Due to work on the funicular, the shuttle bus service was very useful, and the drivers were friendly, too. Overall, we are delighted and are already looking at availabilities for future concert dates.

Seclusive yet not too inconvenient, especially with the complimentary city pass, with spectacular views of Lucerne. Sufficiently staffed and equipped to make my stay as comfortable as possible.

Amazing lookout and comfortable rooms, if you take the funicular down the mountain it’s a short walking distance to all the main attractions. The location is very convenient. There were also some walking paths, but we didn’t have time to explore unfortunately. We had dinner at the restaurant and it was great. We stayed here for a couple of nights and wished we were staying longer.

Neighbourhood is a bit dodgy. Wifi was not working in the room and even though we asked they didn’t rectify the issue.

Beautiful hotel, views and the terrace are breathtaking ambience is unique. Breakfast was nice. Shower was amazing with Molten Brown products. Mini bar refill was great.

Nothing to not like for us.

Everything at Chateaux Gutsch was just wonderful for our holiday. Wonderful location with fantastic views over the mountains and lake, the hotel is high up (giving the great views) but by using the free funicular it takes you to street level in a few minutes. Everywhere inside and out was spotlessly clean, very comfortable beds, quality towels, bed linen and toiletries. Continental breakfast was good with freshly cooked omlettes or however you prefer your eggs served to your table. The evening restaurant was expensive but we booked a table one evening and really enjoyed the choice of dishes. Every member of staff that we met from the time we arrived (with a welcome drink) to the time we left 6 days later were very helpful, professional but friendly too and are an absolute credit to the hotel. We liked everything about this hotel and as we spent everyday outside enjoying the scenery of Switzerland, it was a lovely place to come back to each evening.

Unfortunately you are at the mercy of the funicular to ride up. When we showed up one of them was broken/down for maintenance and then on our last night the other one broke down. If you drive a car it isn’t a big deal but it did suck for us to go do laundry and get out and stuff it required either a physical hike or a bolt ride of 10+ CHF

The rail line that went up to the hotel was alittle grubby and dark. (Although still felt very safe) Empty bottles left on the side and only one lift worked. So this took along time to collect you. Also it was very hard to carry the cases up the stairs to reception from here. But we are young-ish and semi fit so we managed. I did kind of enjoy traveling up to out castle at the end of the day.

The best views in the city. I like the regal decor and the dark moody bar that over looks the city. The bedrooms are very clean and have a knod to the traditional style. My room 46, also over looked the city and lake, fantastic view. The lift was quick, didn't wait long to get to the 4th floor in the hotel. The room wash very warm so slept with window open, this ment you could hear the train line below but that didn't bother us.

Relatively small room, but the view makes up for it.

This is arguably the best Hotel location for views - it's up on a hill, you have to get up via an elevator. You can see the entire city, Lake Lucerne and surrounding Mountains. Get the room with Balcony and you will be able to enjoy the best view.

Incredible location, amazing history, but the best part is all about its people who are always friendly and welcoming. The young man who was on duty the night we arrived is very kind and helpful. Gütsch must be proud of having staff like him.

The bathroom in our room was a bit less private than expected where only a frosted glass door separated the toilet and shower from the sinks.

Perfectly situated atop of a hill overlooking Lucerne with easy access to the city via their free funicular and Lucerne bus/transport pass. Loved the little extras like the comfy slippers, minibar drinks and sweets as well as the wonderful breakfast buffet.
