Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaLots of stairs. Felt more like hotel and ended up having less of a homey feeling.

The breakfast was delicious and filling. The rooms are beautiful. The staff was so kind and helpful! It was quiet and peaceful, and the beds were very comfortable. The location was ideal, just a 5 minute walk to the Christmas market and very close to great restaurants.

CanadaCentral location, not on a busy street. It’s within the walls of old Quebec but is close to the gates within walking distance of the Plains of Abraham and Die Saint-Jean and Grand Allée. Comfortable rooms, delicious breakfast, friendly staff.

CanadaWe only spent one night and did not spend enough time in Québec City to truly appreciate the property. Most of our time was spent exploring the city.
This was the perfect location in the heart of Old Québec City to kick off the start of an epic 10-day road trip to the Maritimes just my son and I. It was a bonus to be in such a beautiful heritage house. I liked the security of the B&B and having an onsite caretaker to greet us and show us around. The mix of modern artwork, antiques, furnishings and décor was so fun and bright giving it a cozy, lived-in feel. Our host was super friendly and really made us feel welcomed. After a lot of fun exploring the old town and a lovely dinner at Aux Anciens Canadiens, it was so nice to sleep in really comfy beds. The next morning we were blown away by the amazing breakfast!! Sitting in the gorgeous little dining room with the sunshine streaming in the windows, surrounded by antique trinkets, the smell of food cooking and a smiling caretaker made us feel so special! And did you see that adorable little balcony? I loved it here!

The breakfast was super fulfilling and absolutely delicious!! The homemade jams were excellent - we bought three jars to take home! The location was right in the middle of Old Quebec, and the free parking out back was an amazing bonus. The B&B itself was just beautiful and very comfortable. Highly recommended!

CanadaThe area is a bit noisy at night, but that's Old Quebec, not hotel's issue
Staff is very welcoming and friendly, parking is available with no extra charge, which is not common in that part of the city, breakfast was delicious, though I am not sure about the variety as we stayed only for one night. Combined with parking, location is exceptional, walking distance to anything in Old Quebec

Hong KongThe bed was way too soft for us, we require a firm mattress to not have a sore back in the morning.
I usually don’t waste my time anymore leaving such comments but I wanted to share how pleased we were with our stay. The service from prearrival up until checkout was impeccable - better than some 5-star hotels that I’ve stayed in, except we paid the price of a 2-star hotel in old Quebec. The location is perfect, right in the old city but away from restaurants (and noise). The on-site parking is soooo helpful. Finding parking (even paid) is quite the task and with two young children I wasn’t in the mood for messing around. The common room in the hotel is also really great because our kids go to bed earlier than us, and we can also use that room to entertain the youngest while others are sleeping. The breakfast was also wonderful. They’re not reinventing the wheel with bacon, eggs and toast with fruit but it was all very fresh and prepared perfectly. It was frankly better than the fancy waffles or whatever offered at other B&Bs that was less fresh.
