It was really easy to get to anywhere we were going, especially Kansas Speedway. It was quick and didn't have any issues getting in. It is amazing that you could be walking around the mall or eating at a restaurant and get a glimpse of the track in the distance.
While Johnson County (county Overland Park is in) has mostly rich wealthy sections Overland Park is truly the Kansas City suburb and section of Johnson County for middle class and lower wage families, couple's and individuals. With cheap to mid legal restaurants discount and mid level shopping and entertainment for every price range Overland Park truly is the affordable place to stay with in a 10 to 20 minute drive from Kansas City. Missouri
Lawrence is a great town on the outskirts, but is overrun with very strange looking, liberal college kids in town. Lots of loafers from what I could see. Not what I expected to see in a midwestern farm region of our country. If you are looking for midwest appeal, you will not find it in Lawrence KS. Just a smaller Kansas City.
Very nice little town. Cool fossil museum and Buffalo Bill center. Stayed at the Kansas County Inn, very nice place. Order Pizza Hut, the didn't deliver but it wasn't far from the Inn. Good pizza. Only issue is some of the streets dip badly in town.
The cattlemams 11 restaurant is good. Jacs on kansas avenue was not. There's not a lot to do in Liberal. Go to Dorthys House and the coronado museum, its pretty neat!
We always enjoy visiting Kansas City. We have family in the area, so have had the opportunity to explore on previous visits. Our must go to place on any trip to KC is “Oklahoma” Joe’s Kansas City BBQ, we’ve never been disappointed in their food.
Has several nice places to stay and has many activities going on year round including Bluegrass festival, Symphony concerts, Community Theatre, etc. for a small town it is quite beautiful! Wonderful large park on the north end of town with a great children’s park, golf courses, swimming pools, and Southwestern College has many activities as well. Winfield has also occasionally played host for the Flint Hills Symphony Concert which is held every Spring at various locations in the Kansas Flint Hills!
I went to college in Lawrence during the 1980s. I had always found it to be the most welcoming and hospitable place on the planet. Since then I have traveled extensively and I still believe that. Not only is Lawrence incredibly friendly, but it's rich in history, culture, beauty and has a very large culinary community, which is very eclectic. Of course, having a very large university in its back yard provides Lawrence with a wealth of academic resources, as well as entertainment and sporting events. Not only would I recommend Lawrence for a visit, but I'm currently lobbying for my wife and I to one day move there. We currently live in New England. I'd easily pitch away the ocean and mountains for the warmth and hospitality of the people of the midwest, especially Lawrence, Kansas.
Cute downtown area that we didn’t have time to explore. It’s a small Kansas town and most people were friendly. Dinner at Ellis Country Club was a good choice overall.
Stayed south of Kansas City in order to spend a day at the wonderful Kansas City art museum. Had a heck of a time finding it, but well worth the effort. Walked a couple blocks to the contemporary art museum to eat lunch. A real treat! Chef comped me the mussels & my hard to please husband enjoyed his chicken dish. Gourmet fare. Panna cotta & a terribly chocolate raspberry creation for desert. Ate 2 breakfasts at the Santa Fe Café on 87th. My fruit plate (fresh strawberries, pineapple, cantaloupe, honey dew. and grapes was much too generous to finish at one sitting. It was a little tricky for us to find the motel, Lenexa parallels I35 partway, but is one way at spots.
This property is in an excellent location. There is a lot to in the surrounding area. One of Kansas City’s most beloved BBQ restaurants called Jack Stack’s is basically attached to the Hotel. Anyone traveling alone would feel 100% safe in this establishment, and would be able to move freely in the neighborhood without any concerns. If you’re in town to attend a Chiefs game though, it’s about a thirty minute drive from the hotel.
Salina
The price of the room was very reasonable and our room was very clean and comfortable. The place shows that they care about it. The outside of the hotel looks nice as well as the rooms and the entire building. It is very well maintained which is very hard to find these days sometimes, especially on a smaller budget. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to family and friends passing through Salina, Kansas!
Beautiful scenery and the nicest hotel employees ever. I’ve stayed at every hotel in Overland Park and they all have at least one mean or rude employees that dream at me terrible. A loft is the most nicest hotel in Kansas City. My dads friend from Malibu ca used to only stay at the a loft when he was in town snd now I know why the level of service they provide is unmatched abd the classiness can’t be overlooked
Hotel located in “wrong” downtown (Kansas City and not Missouri) so you might need to pick your car if you want to enjoy a bit the city. So if you filter out hotels by that, pay attention. It's not where you might want to be. Apart from that, room but clean and well equipped. All was proper and fine, no special comment. Standard breakfast offered and free private parking available on site.
Perfect place to stop when traveling through Kansas. Hotel is right off the highway. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was outstanding - clean with great amenities. Full kitchen with pans, utensils, etc. a bonus. Bed was very comfortable, towels were nice and soft. Good breakfast with hot options (eggs, sausage, waffles) and cereal, bagels, muffins, etc. Highly recommend.
We wanted to explore Kansas/Missouri so I purposefully wanted a hotel outside of city limits just to explore. Clean facilities for the most part. We had a very roomy room (stayed in a handicap room for my hard of hearing father) and it was pretty comfortable for our party of 3.
I stayed here earlier this year in my travels along Interstate 70 in western Kansas and had a pleasant experience. Hotel rooms along I70 are always more expensive but this one was a good value on that trip and this one. The facility and our room was clean.
They didn't even have a breakfast. I stayed at 6 hotels on the past 1½ weeks, and they were the only ones who didn't have a nice hot breakfast in the morning. Doesn't surprise me Kansas is a blue state, still scared of the China Virus.
Hotel was cleaner than any other hotel we have been to in all of Kansas. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was fresh, high quality with a large selection of hot and cold options. Beds were very comfortable and clean.
The location of this hotel is right off the highway. About 18 minutes from downtown Kansas City. There's not a lot of dining options within walking distance but the lobby was tidy and from afar it looked like a nice hotel.
Loved the location it was right downtown across from some wonderful restaurants and art galleries. The rooms were gorgeous and the whole aesthetic of the hotel was beautiful and a pleasant surprise to find in Topeka Kansas.
The location on the Arkansas River and near many cool shops and restaurants. The room was super clean, beds super comfortable and good view. Staff were all welcoming and helpful. The pool area and view were great!
Literally everything. Clean, comfortable, the staff was friendly and helpful. Location was a hop and a skip from I-35/Kansas Turnpike. Best hotel breakfast I have had in many a day!
Ive stayed here before. This is the best hotel in Manhattan Kansas. It appears recently they updated the rooms and have new mattresses which were very comfortable. Highly recommended.
Location was great , best and cleanest hotel we’ve stayed at in Parsons Kansas .The beds were very comfortable. The staff were nice as well.thank you for making our stay enjoyable!
Since my partner lives in Wichita and I live near Kansas City we need affordable accommodation when I visit him and I liked the cost, the location and ease of booking online.
The breakfast was good everyday and very much appreciated. The hotel is located in a good neighborhood and is within a short drive of all major attractions in Kansas City.
The hotel was spotless and beautiful. The location was awesome with a great view of the Arkansas river and walking paths. The staff were helpful and personable.
The hotel was spectacular. The staff is 1st rate & have Kansas hospitality. Rooms were immaculate. Couldn't have stayed at a better place in town.
Location although it is in Kansas the hotel is not for from Union Station where we were traveling by Amtrak. It does have a laundry room.
