The hospitality of the hotel was impressive. They sent a taxi to pick us up, when the bus dropped us 73 km from Kars. The room was very comfortable and the staff went out of the way to make sure we had a wonderful stay. The location of the hotel is excellent; on one side the Kars castle and on the other the Kars river. The dining hall is richly furnished. It is pleasant to sit on the lawn and drink coffee. The star of the hotel is Ahmet at the reception. He speaks very good English and is most helpful and friendly. We enjoyed talking with him and learning about Kars and Ani. The taxi attached to the hotel was very useful for 3 days in picking us up from a remote place, exploring Ani and Mt. Ararat and finally dropping us off at the airport. Overall, this hotel was one of the best we have stayed in in Turkey.

Featuring a garden and terrace, as well as a restaurant, AHISKA PALAS OTEL is located in Kars. The accommodation provides room service and a 24-hour front desk for guests. The location is smack in the middle of Kars, just under Kars castle and central to lots of restaurants. You're not going to beat this location with any other hotel, bar none. The hotel is new and in a super-nicely converted building (it's unclear what it was - but perhaps a large barn or stables of some sort) and it combines rustic features of old stone with nice new, warm wood. The rooms were nicely sized and comfortable and the bathrooms modern with all the amenities we were looking for. The hotel is adjoined to a popular cafe in Kars (which is also owned by them) and served up an overwhelming traditional Turkish breakfast everyday. Super value in this.

The genuine hospitality we received from all the staff right up to the owners warmed our heart. The food was delicious the spa treatment was luxurious and the bed was very comfortable. The owners and management had gone out of their way to ensure we had an unforgettable experience. The hotel had experience zero to no snow but they arranged a transfer up the mountain for us to experience it. We will forever remember the time spent here and cant thank you enough for helping us make the best memories. From our hearts to yours thank you so much. May your business always flourish.

Very friendly inn-keeper and friendly staff. Helpful. Room was big and bright. Well protected againgst street noise. The breakfast room was modern and the food was well presented.

The New Marathon Hotel is centrally located in the heart of Elazig. All its rooms offer air conditioning, cable TV and free Wi-Fi. The location is just 15 minutes away from the airport. we arrived late, but they helped us by giving us by surprise the wonderful and big suite. The staff is very helpful and breakfast from top of the hotel gives a beautiful view over the city and mountain. In just a 200 meters from the hotel there is a bazaar with great smelling herbs and sweets. I would recommend to take a taxi to Harput Castle, it’s 20 minutes. The water dam is almost 1 hour, with the taxi it’s gonna cost you just 700/800 TL. Conclusion; do not only use Elazig Airport as a stop over, but stay at least two nights in the New Marathon Hotel and enjoy the staff and the city.

The location of the Hotel was so easy to find, extremely close to the main points of the city. The rooms were large and the heating system of the room was excellent. Everyday our rooms were cleaned and they replaced new slippers, towels and water bottles. From the reception to management, even the breakfast, everybody was always helpful and smiling. We were even late for breakfast one day but they still opened service to us, which they did not have to. To sum up, We are highly satisfied of the accommodation and planning to stay again in our next trips.
