Panama City is great especially during the dry season. Lots of great restaurants, malls, movie theatres, and other things to do. The weather is great during the dry season. Each trip I find there are more people who can speak English making life easier. My one suggestion is to avoid taking taxis in front of the hotels. Example, took a short trip from the hotel to a restaurant and was charged $13.00. On the return I had the owner of the restaurant book the cab and the total cost back to the hotel was $3.00. Always negotiate your taxi fare with yellow cabs before you enter the taxi. If they say $7.00 don’t be afraid to counter with three. You may settle at $4-5.00. Learn a little Spanish as most cab drivers speak little to no English.
It's so hot , so forget about outdoor activities! perfect for shopping because in Central America you don't have any chance like Panama City to find brands or verities of products!
Panama city is a must see, obviously the marvel of the Panama Canal. Also it's amazing how big the city is for how small the country. They have everything here from fast food, chain food, local food, huge supermarkets, specialty shops, casinos everywhere and gorgeous hotels. Also perfect to get to the luxurious San Blas (albeit an expensive getaway) also Bocas Del Toro for a longer but cheaper equivalent. Volcanos and jungle in the north also a plus. Would return
Great cultural experience for my first time visiting. People were nice and friendly, food was excellent!! Felt very safe traveling around the city as there is a noticeable police presence as we traveled to Casca Veijo (Old Town), Amador, and Tabogo Island and the Canal. Use Uber a lot going to places, very safe and you can get a lot of information about Panama from talking with them. Some knew English others didn’t, that was one of the fun things, trying to communicate in another language.
I found Panama city to be pretty safe to walk about in at night seems to be quite a large police presence always a couple on street corners. My advice to anyone going there bye a metro card when you get there bus journeys 25cents metro train 35 cents lovely new clean safe metro all in all a good place. If you have the metro card it's the best way to get to the canal.
One of the greatest most interesting cities in North or South America. Architecture food entertainment museums natural history ecological tourism is first rate. Visit Panama an amazing destination.
Nice, small city. Loved the food! Old Panama (colonial area) is beautiful but still needs some work. The canal is a must see but I would have planned the boat trip that takes you thru the whole of the canal. Looking at it from Miraflores works too. Bioscience museum is also a must.
The subway makes it easy to get around parts of the town, although it is still very limited. There is a lot to see in Panama City, including the parks and Casco Viejo. And there are still reasonably priced properties to be attained.

Panama City has a lovely Old Town with plenty of bars and restaurants . It’s easy to get around and it felt safe with Police stationed on every corner. The financial district consists of modern high rise buildings.
I booked initially for 4 nights but eventually I remained for 3 weeks, as I was in Panama for work. This hotel has the best ratio quality/rate of the whole area around. The staff are nice and helpful. I had an issue with a noisy air conditioner and it was fixed soon. The cleaning is very good. Internet is excellent. The location is also very good, very close to the coast, just few meters from a huge supermarket/store (El machetazo). Considering the rate, I couldn't wish more
There was an issue with the room we booked the day we arrived, The Hotel arranged a similar hotel and arranged the transport to and from the other hotel . The room is more like a large fully equipped condo , even including a dishwasher. Staff is very helpful for any question or request you may have in Panama city. Swimming pool is open long hours and the hotel is situated in a building which has super market , a department store and a French Croissant place.

The private room was spacious, comfortable and clean. The pool/lounge area was inviting. I am older than the typical hostel demographic, but I found that most guests were respectful and quiet. There was no noise at night and I could sleep well. The location is a lively, but safe part of town with a variety of nice restaurant options. Overall, Bodhi is a good value for the price and I would definitely stay there again on another visit to Panama City.

The location was good - walkable distance to the El Cangrejo neighborhood which has plenty of restaurants, shops, parks, and historical interests. The staff at Panama House were friendly and welcoming, and our room was clean and had great air conditioning. It was lovely to have a quick breakfast of bread and jam, bananas and coffee in the courtyard in the morning, while exchanging “holas” with Blue, the parrot!
this was hard rock hotel panama but pandemic caused the hard rock ownership to leave.....facilities were beyond expectation, room was large, clean and well designed. there is an outlet mall across the street that is mostly abandoned, but were a few stores including a supermarket where we could buy what we needed. Would definately recommend and we will stay there on our next trip to Panama City.
We booked the room just for a few hours of layover in Panama. Because there was no place to drop our luggage at the airport. So it was our kind of of a luggage storage place and a shower. We never stayed overnight. So from what I can tell. Generally hotel it seems really nice. Good view and location. Had pool area. Dining. Professional receptionists. Rooms were pretty big. (Got with 2 beds)
(On arrival at airport, shuttle was no where to be seen after a long wait. We took a taxi to the Hotel.) If the "shuttle schedule" would be posted online, that would be helpful. We DID take the shuttle bact to the airport the next day for our flight to David, Panama. THe shuttle schedule WAS POSTED AT THE HOTEL :) Small menu at the restaurante, all was good:)
The Hotel was spotless, the breakfast had a nice selection, and the pool was clean. I felt safe in this hotel because even though the access to the rooms was next to the front reception you still needed your electronic key to unlock the door. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone wishing to visit Panamá City yet keep their stay cost effective.
The hotel and the room were beautiful and very comfortable- our expectations exceeded. We ate at the restaurant to avoid leaving as we had an early morning ahead of us. They had large servings and the food was delicious- which wasnt our experience in most of Panama. The terrace on the 12th floor was amazing. And so was the view from our room on the 13th
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was updated and large. We paid for a room upgrade for ocean view and it didn’t disappoint! Pool area had cabanas for free use and hardly anyone there. Buffet breakfast included with our reservation had a HUGE variety of hot and cold choices. Would DEFINITELY stay here on my next trip to Panama City!

Breakfast included and well presented. Everyone I interacted with at the hotel seems very happy to work at the Riande Aeropuerto Hotel.

This is our new favorite place to stay in Panama. The entire place is built from shipping containers, which sounded suspicious to me, but we found the inside was very nice in every way. Roomy, tastefully decorated and furnished, comfortable, and complete, very capable kitchen.

Place was clean and met all your needs. Nelson, the on sight host is extremely helpful, kind and always willing to assist in every way he can. Despite not being fluent in English, Nelson hands down was the most helpful person we have met so far in Panama!
