The staff were very friendly and helpful. There was dedicated parking behind the hotel. The room was very pleasantly furnished and decorated. It was clean and quiet. Check in was smooth. The hotel has a great bar/pub adjoining, where breakfast and dinner was served. It's an old hotel with great routines and processes in place; all in all a professsionally run hotel. It was a great stay.

The Grand Hotel is located in the center of Wanganui, opposite Cooks Gardens Sporting Complex. It offers free parking. All of the comfortable rooms include modern facilities. The room was awesome. Much better than the last time, lots of natural light aswell so it made the room super warm. Room was lovely I even had a bath. Which was great

The Avenue Hotel is located on Whanganui`s main central city road, only a 10-minute walk from the CBD with plenty of offstreet parking. Breakfast was included in the fee. We had a lovely asian girl serving us. Would just like to say, she made our breakfast experience great. Very prompt and polite service .

Ive stayed at a fair few hostels whilst traveling the globe, and this hostel has to be the most quietest one I've stayed at. The hostel itself is a very charming establishment that sits across the road from the Whanganui River and walkway, and central to just about everything. I had a decently priced room which was basic and all I needed for my stay, morning greetings from the hostel dog was an added bonus
The facilities were luxurious very clean and comfortable and the spa bath was fantastic

The property is in excellent condition and the room was spacious. We can confirm all the other reviews that say the bed is very comfortable :-). The area is very quiet and yet within walking distance from the main street, where one can find decent restaurants and a couple of nice coffee shops (the mischief café is highly recommended). Best of all, the couple managing the motel are extremely friendly and helpful, and we had a couple of very pleasant chats with them. Thank you for making our stay all the more pleasurable!
The 2 bedroom deluxe and garden studio were nice and spotless. There was a small fridge and a full size stove and oven in the 2brm with a modern bathroom. The shower was an older style in the studio. Location was fantastic by the river. Highly recommend.

Best place in n whanganui to stay at, lots of space, it accommodates spouse, child and me very well, open with lots of space so comfortable, rooms are warm and sound proof, lovely on the eyes, love the view outside, very much feels like home away from home, very affordable and lovely staff members and owner
This was the best holiday park we’ve stayed it. The cabin was nice and clean and bigger than we expected. It is located very close to a large playground and the beach. Check in was easy. We called ahead because we were later than expected due to the ferry problems, our key was left in the cabin for us in case we arrived after 7.30pm. We would definitely stay here again.
