MacKenzie Country Hotel is located in Twizel, in the heart of the Aoraki Mount Cook and MacKenzie Country Region. It offers modern rooms with picturesque views of the surrounding mountains. Very friendly staff. Loved the log fire in the bar and the smorgasbord dinner was.yummy.

The Heritage Gateway Hotel is situated in Omarama, at the crossroads of MacKenzie Basin, Lindis Pass and Waitaki Valley. It offers panoramic views and excellent hiking and biking opportunities. Hot breakfast buffet was the best we had on our trip to New Zealand. Can’t say enough how great the staff was!

The Rest in Twizel provides accommodations with a tennis court and barbecue facilities. With quiet street views, this accommodation provides a patio. Very nice unit with everything you need. Very clean. There was also a bbq for grilling. Convenient location.

Very cozy cottage with nice little touches like Netflix, books, games and kitchen utensils if you want to make something basic. Dave was very nice and accommodating.

BigSky Motels is offering accommodations in Omarama. The property has ski storage space, as well as a tennis court and barbecue facilities. Very clean and modern little apartment. Well equipped. Great bed. Patio chairs to sit outside in the sunshine. Very quiet so great night’s sleep.

All the comforts of home, except we were in the Mt. Cook range of NZ. Crystal clear skies, Milky Way shining thru every night, wondrous cold - instead of murderous heat - and all the fresh mountain salmon you can eat at bargain prices. Who could ask for more?

Quail Rest is located on Totara Peak Station which is a working High Country Station located on the shores of Lake Benmore 22kms from Twizel township. Free WiFi and private parking is included. Extremely convenient and accommodating check in process for a late evening arrival. Wonderful accommodation that exceeded my expectations. I just needed a quiet place to rest before my next morning adventure but on an upcoming couples getaway I am planning this will be top of the list!
