The little houses are wonderfully located. You are surrounded by nature and a close drive to Te Arai Beach (where you can take surf lessons as well). We only stayed for one night but would have loved to stay longer. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The place clean, sunny and the oerfect size for two ppl with baggage. We would definetly come back if we could! Very good prize for what is offered.

Chalet Cullen, offers accommodations in Mangawhai, 1.1 miles from Mangawhai Heads Beach. This property offers access to a balcony, darts, free private parking, and free Wifi. Even though we only had a single overnight stay at Chalet Cullen, we must say it’s on our top ten experiences of what we have had during our 6 weeks vacation in New Zealand. The unit was fine and cozy, and with a great view to the beach. The local radio station (FM 90.4) plays pop/rock from the good old days. What’s not to like. We can only give our best recommendations.

Located within walking distance to many dining options, Heads Up offers a garden, a BBQ area and accommodations with a deck and free WiFi. We really enjoyed our one-night stay at Heads Up - the studio is spacious, with a comfortable bed and good shower (large bathroom). The hosts are awesome - they brightened our (very rainy) day with avocados, and a complimentary plate of guacamole + nachos. Great location, as well. It's really nice to have your coffee in the morning sun, looking at the beautiful view from the terrace (you can see the ocean in the distance).
