Lovely little cabins older style but clean, tidy and warm in the winter months. Pet friendly and I had the privilege of an early morning meeting with a kiwi (BIRD) who took advantage of a left over dog biscuit left out the night before🤦😁 all in all little Wanganui is one stop away from the end of the road in theses parts but holds its own none the less.

Very charming but with modern facilities. Feel privileged to have stayed in such an interesting house with a history. Only stayed one night but would have been perfect for longer. Newton Flat
Great backpackers hostel along with attached cafe and bar right on the state highway. Amazing view of Buller River and the mountains. The owner is super friendly and flexible and helped us check in, sold us beer and we hung out in the dining area til late. The hostel portion has two shared bathrooms with good showers and a kitchen to use. Staying here made our trip so much better and more fun!
The room was spacious for the three of us. It has a kitchen enabling us to cook our own food. It was also good value for money.

The lady at the desk was so nice! She recommended a couple of places to eat, and she was right about how good they were. The bed was comfy and the room had a nice tub. She gave us milk and cookies, too!
Everything is awesome here. Cute little units with wood features. Hot tub in amongst the ferns. Close to the beach and a short drive from the seal colony. Excellent breakfast with brewed coffee, fresh bread, yoghurt, fruit, spreads. Bed was very comfortable. Good shower.
Stayed here a few times. Convenient overnight stop.
Wheelchair accessible was satisfactorily. Facilities clean and spacious.

Location in rain forest is fantastic!
I loved everything about my stay in the cabin at the Beach Camp. It was so cozy, stylish and Spotlessly clean. The staff make sure the shared bathrooms and kitchen are clean and provide a nice environment for everyone to gather. It rained so hard the morning I had to leave and they gave me a ride to the bus stop - so kind! Thank you!!
