The staff spoke english finally we had some conversation since not many speaks english. And they were just great really friendly and attentive . The food was good , just nothing bad really . Situated within 8 km of Isalo National Park in Ranohira, HOTEL H1 ISALO boasts views of the mountains. Some of Isalo's natural pools are within 6 km of the property. The staff are very nice and considering the hotel is in the middle of nowhere its well maintained and clean.

Beautiful and spacious bungalows, each with an amazing view overlooking the national park. The friendly staff were able to bring my dinner to my balcony, so I could enjoy my meal while watching the sun set over the mountain range. The rooms were clean, and good quality blankets and towels were provided. Excellent value in my opinion! The owner, Aurelien, is an experienced travel guide and is very knowledgable about the area surrounding Isalo as well as the rest of the country. I had some very last minute travel plans that he was able to help me sort out by ringing a few of his contacts. Honestly, I would reccomend coming just to speak with him! He is incredibly accomodating and you can learn about a lot of great attractions in madagascar while sitting around the campfire with him. Breakfast and dinner were served with large portions, and they are able to alter the dishes to your requests. The team also prepared a packed lunch for me for my hike in Isalo, which saved me a lot of money and hassle! Location is fantastic, just a short walk from the busy main street in town, and you will pass the guide office on the way. Highly reccomended.

Set in the Sandstone Mountains, Isalo Rock Lodge overlooks the Isalo National Park. The property offers an outdoor pool and a restaurant. We absolutely Isalo Rock Lodge. Our room was wonderful - spacious and open with amazing views. We really liked the bath by the window.
