The best way to visit Kotor is drive around the whole Kotor bay since the view there should be the best. There is not a lot of things you can do in old town except climbing the old town wall which is with very good view of the town and bay.
Perast is a really nice village on Kotor bay. It the archetype of a Mediterranean village, small white houses with red roof on a saphir blue sea. I recommend renting a kayak to go two the two islands in front of it instead of taking a taxi boat. We went off season and the village is really calm, and we enjoyed great food at the Conte restaurant.
You should go to top of the hills and I strongly recommend that you take couple of beer into the ice package with you. And then, Just enjoy of the old city and Kotor bay...
The whole Kotor Bay is beautiful and great for both sightseeing and active tourism (sailing,kayaking, hiking). The local food is great, but it is better to try seafood outside of Kotor Old Town, by the Bay itself. It is a good place for a longer stay and exploration of both plenty of historical monuments and amazing nature. Tip: Don't take a water taxi to explore the islands in Perast with the kayak it is much more enjoyable!

Old Town Kotor is UNBELIEVABLE medieval city. It's a must see destination for all traveler whether your interest is culture, history, or your just looking for a fun place to wander. Kotor Bay is really a magical place too. You feel yourself as inside a post card and hard to imagine such awe inspiring natural beauty. The local people are friendly and warm. Food is great and mot expensive. I have traveled throughout most of the northern hemisphere and Montenegro is definitely in the top 3 destinations on my list of places to return to again.
Kotor is a beautiful old walled city with a superb location nestled at the foot of mountains on Kotor bay. Although the old town is small it is easy and a treat to get lost wandering through the walled town. When there is no cruise ship in town, there is a relaxed and chilled vibe. When the cruise ships are there it all becomes a bit more frantic. The walk up to the fort of St John via the city walls is well worth the exertion for the superb views over the bay. There is a great selection of bars and restaurants to suit most budgets and tastes.
Kotor was great stop on our trip through the Balkans. We spent two night at this lovely boutique hotel and enjoyed the beauty of Kotor Bay. The old city was really interesting and the people were very friendly. The best things though are the views of Kotor Bay. Just a "WOW" kind of place.
Kotor is a beautiful town in the Kotor Bay, which resembles Norwegian fjords. The old town is as charming as it can be and the view from St. John's Fortress is breathtaking.
Kotor Old Town is great to explore the narrow cobbled alleyways. Perast is also a must go to location. Book a Kotor Bay boat tour. Tivat and the stunning new Porto Montenegro Marina is worth a visit. Would also recommend heading up into National Parks like Lovcen and Durmitor for stunning mountain and forestry views.

This beautiful apartment was remodeled into this chic stylish home. Everything was new, very clean and comfortable. The views of Kotor bay and the surrounding mountains were breathtaking. The family and Miljan were eager to assist us in any way possible. From special requests to ordering us a taxi and recommending beach clubs and restaurants. We have traveled to 33 countries so far and haven’t had another host be as kind. Montenegro is a must visit place. The beauty, the people and the amazing food it too much to pass up. 5 stars ⭐️

The apartment was a perfect size and very well equipped for cooking family meals. Beds were very comfy and the air conditioning worked perfect. Pool area was very good and never too busy and very relaxing. The terrace in the apartment is perfect for sun in the morning and has a nice shaded area to eat in the evening if required. The terrace is very spacious. Location is good for visiting Montenegro and Kotor Bay area. Communication was excellent also and we had no trouble on arrival to find and access the place.
Tivat
It's a really nice apartment, with an amazing view of Kotor Bay from the balcony (we had breakfast there). The kitchen is well-equipped, with a coffee machine and some basic groceries. We loved the location: it's quite close to Porto Montenegro but at the same time it's quieter and more chill. It's also close to the public beach, which we were able to use easily due to it. The hosts were friendly and allowed us to check out late, which we are really thankful for :)

Peter and his wife were exceptional hosts during our stay in Muo Apartments. We mentioned to them it was our honeymoon and they kindly prepared some balloons, Rosé and chocolates for us on arrival which was very much appreciated. In addition, Peter was very responsive to messages and gave us tips and recommendations on where to eat and visit during our stay in Kotor. The views from the apartment overlooking Kotor Bay are exceptional! The outdoor swimming pool is a real bonus

We liked everything. The owners were very nice and welcoming. The location is excellent. Theres a local market and a bakery 1min on foot. The sea is just across the apartment street and we had coffee there every morning and cruisers were passing on the other side of the bay to dock at Kotor bay. The view is stunning from there. The room was clean and tidy and it has everything you need and more. Kamenari is cozy and beautiful and we will visit Summer Time Apartments again.

Comfortable apartment with a majestic view over the Kotor bay, located in a small village near Kotor with a very relaxing atmosphere. The property was squeaky clean, with everything we could possibly need. We also very much enjoyed the private recreational area just outside the apartment, with benches, tables and a fireplace. The apartment was modern and comfortable with good furnishings and a generous kitchen area with all the facilities you would need ( a microwave or air fryer would have been a useful addition). There were two balconies, both with superb views of the surrounding area and Kotor Bay, though not Kotor itself which was out of sight but easily accessible by car in about 15 minutes. There was a huge supermarket and bars and restaurants within a 5-10 minute drive,

Food in the restaurant is excellent, as well as the wine list: congratulations to the chef and his team. We did not use pools as they were cold but had several saunas. Hotel staff are the true gem of this place: they are both very kind and very professional ! they made us feel like home :)

Among all apartments we have rented in Montenegro during our holidays, Ranko Apartment was the best! Very spacious room, kitchen and bathroom, everything well equipped and super clean. We loved the location which was close to many beautiful places around Kotor Bay. We enjoyed spending evenings on the balcony and very calm surroundings. The host was very nice and super helpful. We would love to come back to this place!
Everything was great. The room was big and had a perfect Kotor Bay view. The breakfast was diversive and delicious. It has a private beach. That is a really big plus in Kotor. The location was also great. It is not far away from Kotor center. The staff was polite and helpful. Especially Irma was so helpful. Because, we had a small cleaning issue but, she immediately took action and made us happy with a small gesture.

The view from the terrace over Kotor Bay is lovely, a great spot to sit in the morning and evenings. The hosts are very nice and friendly. There is a parking area for the car so you don't have to park on the street. It has a washing machine, great for travelers. Apartment is lovely and sofa is larger than most and nice for watching TV. Can walk into town, a shopping mall in town to access groceries etc.

Friendly atmosphere, awesome boat party every other day! We went out on Kotor Bay and got to swim and dance. Definitely worth it for €20! They also have BBQs, karaoke, tours. Very kind staff members. Most of Montenegro including this hostel is cash only, so go top up for FREE! at Erste ATM, there’s two nearby. One is right by the bus station.

Stunning views of Kotor bay from each room. Easy walk to old town center. Everything was perfect. The owner of the apartment is very gracious and offered hospitality on many occasions. He also left us a bottle of his family’s wine which was great! Also it was really nice having a parking spot in the garage.

The apartment is new and very comfortable. The view of Kotor bay and the mountains is to die for. It’s an easy 1 mile walk into the Old City. Driving around Kotor is very difficult so staying near the city really helps. It’s a great value for the money.
